About The Old Stables Campsite

Located in South West Cornwall, this no frills site has everything you need for your authentic camping experience. Situated within easy reach of long stretches of picturesque sandy beaches, enjoy the impressive views of St. Ives Bay from Godrevy or Gwithian Towans nearby. With spacious large pitches around a large field - let the kids play, while you enjoy the peace of the Cornish countryside. There are even hot showers and a wet suit wash down station to wash off the sand from those long beach days. The site provides fire pit rental for those chilly evenings and all the supplies you might require for your fire pit, should you wish to purchase on site. If camping under canvas doesn't appeal to you, then opt for one of the Shepherd's Huts. This basic glamping option comes complete with a double bunk, two comfy futons that convert into single beds, and a table with stools. The huts have parking for one car beside them and come with a dedicated picnic bench and electricity, all included in the price. Just remember to bring your own bedding and cooking facilities. Don't forget to try one of the delicious homemade cakes available to buy on site too! Dogs are welcome on the grass pitches but not in the provided accommodation, sorry. Do note, the fields around the site are home to a large amount of solar panels.

The site is open from 11th to 21st April, 2nd to 11th May and from 23rd May until 13th September.

A note from the site themselves...

Our campsite first opened in 2018 as a very basic site, with no water, electric or washing facilities and has developed from there to what we have today. We are both Cornish born and bred and have lived in Penwith all of our life. We are proud of our heritage and passionate about the area in which we are so lucky to live and love sharing our knowledge of the area with our guests.

Our overall aim is to continue to provide a quiet, clean, basic site with spacious pitches, which is affordable for all and a place where all of our guests have a peaceful and enjoyable stay and will recommend us to their families and friends and wish to return in the future.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

The Old Stables is great for those who are looking for a small campsite with all the standard facilities. Good pitch sizes with electric hook-up available. Fire pits available to rent with logs make for a lovely evening activity. The convenient location near to the A30 is also a downside, as you can hear the traffic from the site. However, except for the odd loud lorry/motorbike, we soon grew accustomed to the noise. Jayne and Mike were very welcoming when we arrived and gave us a pack with information and vouchers for the area. Would recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Site's response

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and felt that we had everything you needed for your stay. We do experience some road noise when the volume of traffic is high, but we are glad that it didn't spoil your stay or stop you from returning to us in the future. Jayne and Mike.

Great and very clean
