Why you'll love it at Dalebottom Farm Caravan & Camping Park

About the site

The Kitching family are now in their fourth generation running Dalebottom Farm and have a great deal of knowledge about the fells and mountains around the area, so they're always happy to guide guests. Families, couples and campers doing the Bob Graham Round or Duke of Edinburgh awards are always welcome. There are grass pitches and hardstandings with electric hook ups available for tourers, motorhomes and camping. The farm's static caravans are on the same site as tourers and camping. This has proven popular when some in the family are looking to camp, but others are keen to stay close to their creature comforts.

There are plenty of activities to keep you going in the area, but one of the most popular has to be walking in the fells. There are routes round the Lake District that are absolutely stunning, and once you've had a good explore, you can take things further with golf and fishing.

There is a fabulous climbing wall nearby for those who like a challenge, or you can try fell running with the Bob Graham Round.

If that sounds a tad too strenuous, there are some picturesque, easier walks straight from the campsite, such as the route to High Rigg with magnificent views of the Naddle Valley and St John's in the Vale, with perhaps a visit to the peaceful St John's in the Vale Church too.

You can also walk to the atmospheric Castlerigg Stone Circle and both Thirlmere and Derwentwater are in reach.
