Ditchling Camp, ideally set in the South Downs National Park, is a place where loved ones can camp together and gather around the campfire. It offers spectacular views to the north and over the tempting Downs. Ditchling is the smaller of a group of sites - much loved for its separate camping areas and individual camping areas where it feels just like camping all alone!

Why you'll love it at Ditchling Camp

About the site

Unobtrusively settled in a meadow, this is a back-to-basics campsite that is both off grid and set deep within greenery. This is a return to the heyday of camping, where what matters is the stunning spot, and making lifelong memories with family. Each pitch features a campfire and there are a number of secluded, private camping areas available to rent for those who want to feel like they've escaped the world.

Open from 25 May to 31 August

25 x Fire Pit Pitches

Depending on the size of the party, there are areas available which are very secluded.

- There are no rubbish bins on site and we ask that all rubbish is taken away.

- Please only use existing fire pits. There are plenty of them.

- No disposable barbecues. They wreck the grass, make food taste horrible and are bad for the environment!

- You can only burn wood bought from us on the campfires. No foraging from local woods

From site, it's easy to let your feet guide you along the South Downs Way, perhaps even to Ditchling Beacon and its lovely views. A bike is a welcome addition to these gorgeous routes. One popular attraction, a pair of famous Jack and Jill Windmills, is just a 15 minute walk away.

The local village is home to a sweet arts and craft museum along with many good pubs which will give you a warm welcome. Lewes is an unmissable stop with its prominent hilltop castle and famous Bonfire Night celebrations. Opera fans will be drawn to famous Glyndebourne House nearby.

A special treat you'll find in the area is Pells Pool, a community-run, spring fed outdoor pool, the ideal place to cool off if the weather gets hot.

Brighton with its pier, beaches and charming Lanes is only 8 miles away. It's also brimming with indoor attractions, great nightlife and famous entertainment.
