About The Macs Farm
Family friendly camping at its finest, this site is set on a working farm with lots to do onsite and a great location for days out, including the South Down's National Park and Brighton. Open during the summer only, this site offers weekend camping and midweek camping during school holidays. There are four camping fields to choose from and each pitch caters for up to six people. The Barn Owl Field is perfect for families with mown pitches surrounded by wild grass and flowers. Pitches have shared facilities nearby, individual fire pits and use of the Pole Barn. The Little Owl Field is a big open space surrounded by trees, it is perfect for groups of families and friends wanting to camp next to each other. There are shared facilities nearby and campers have use of the Old Chook Shed. Fire pits are spread around the field for groups to gather around. The Tawny Owl Field is specifically designed for groups with just five spacious pitches, each holding up to 24 people and six tents. Each pitch has a communal fire pit in the middle and campers have access to the Pole Barn and shared facilities nearby. Finally, the Nest Box Field is the closest to the hub of the campsite perfect for groups of families and friends wanting to be near the action! The field has its own facilities and there are fire pits spread around the field. The site is in South Down's National Park, close to the Devil's Dyke for family walks, or Brighton for a trip to the seaside, and the quaint town of Lewes for a day out. Guests may also hire a bell tent for their pitch to save the hassle of bringing all of the camping gear! The site is car free, so you can park up and put all your belongings in a wheelbarrow to take to your pitch. Each pitch has access to a fire pit with wood, kindling, matches and firelighters. Guests may also have a BBQ as long as it is raised from the ground or put in a fire pit. The site welcomes well behaved dogs, due to the nearby livestock dogs must be kept under control at all times.
The site is open for weekends only from the 19th May until the 20th August. However, during the May half term and summer holidays the site will be open for midweek camping.

Non electric grass pitches suitable for tents only. Close to the hub of the farm. Fire pits are dotted around the field and guests are nearby the 'Nest box'. The field has it's own toilets, showers, washing up sinks and a small fridge to use.

Site rules and policies
Check in for weekend camping is at 12 pm on the Friday, and check out is at 2 pm on Sunday. For three night stays, check out is 12 pm Monday. During May half term midweek camping, check in is from 2 pm and check out is at 2 pm. During the summer holidays midweek camping, check in is from 12 pm and check out is at 2 pm.
The site has a no noise policy from 10pm.
Guests all have access to either an individual or a communal fire pit. BBQs are allowed as long as they are raised or in a fire pit.
Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be attended to at all times due to the livestock of the farm and small children who may not like dogs.
Things to do on site and in the Hassocks area
The site hosts a range of family friendly activities so you don't need to leave the site if you don't want to! With a local street food van on some evenings to save the washing up and stress of cooking for the family.
The Nest Box is the hub of the campsite in a converted chicken shed with a licensed bar serving drinks, as well as homemade ice cream, crepes and the sites own organic free range eggs! Hosting live music with local musicians on Fridays, Saturdays and Tuesdays during the summer holidays to give that festival feel to your holiday.
Guests can take part in a range of onsite activities including nature trails, family yoga, pond dipping as well as meeting and feeding the 6,000 resident hens! Guests may also book to meet and learn about the creatures in the Snake Shack, a reptile rescue centre on the farm.
The site also holds a range of family friendly events each year, previous examples including, Macs Barn Dance, Gin and Groove Night and the Wild Meadows Weekend!
If you're wanting to explore the area, bring the bikes and explore the South Downs! Or take a trip down to Brighton beach and ride the rollercoasters on the pier, just a 30 minute drive from the site. For some indoor fun try the Triangle Leisure Centre with an indoor swimming pool with slides, trampolining and a climbing wall just 15 minutes from the site!
