Balranald Hebridean Holidays is a dog friendly site set on a bay, bordering an RSPB nature reserve on the Isle Of North Uist, only accessible by ferry. The site offers a range of non electric and electric grass pitches suitable for tents and campervans, with electric hardstanding touring pitches and a glamping pod that sleeps two. An onsite shop sells hot drinks and local produce, as well as a seasonal takeaway cabin providing hot meals.

About the site
This family-friendly site offers an ideal base for exploring as well as a place to relax, close to the water and local wildlife. This site is on the Isle Of North Uist which is only accessible by ferry. The site provides six non electric grass pitches and 11 electric grass pitches, both suitable for tents and campervans. There are 19 electric hardstanding pitches suitable for caravans and motorhomes with a maximum vehicle length of eight metres. For glampers, the Corncrake Pod sleeps two with the bonus of being dog friendly, up to two dogs can join you in your stay. The pod includes two single beds, a kettle, fridge, microwave and a heater to keep you cosy. You will have to bring your own towels but bedding and linens are provided. Shared facilities are a short walk from the pod. If you are visiting during the summer months you will be lucky enough to hear the Corncrakes, now a rare bird to find in the UK. Please note this will add to the site's noise level during the day and at night. You are welcome to bring your dogs with you on your trip. Please make sure to add them to your booking. BBQs and open fires are allowed onsite but must be raised off the ground.

Site rules and policies
*Check-in for touring and camping pitches is between 12:00 and 20:00.
*Check-in for Corncrake Pod is between 16:00 and 20:00
*Check out by 11:00.
*Children of all ages are welcome.
*Dogs are allowed and can stay free of charge on touring and camping pitches.
*There is a charge for dogs in the Corncrake Pod. A maximum of two well-behaved dogs are permitted in the pod. Dogs must not be left unattended in the pod.
*Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times as we are on a Nature Reserve.
*Dogs (other than guide dogs) are not permitted in the facilities blocks.
*Smoking is allowed in open-air areas.
*Parking for all guests is available onsite.
*All pitches (except backpacker) include 1 vehicle. Additional vehicles will be charged at £2 per night.
*Quiet Time: Please be considerate to others by keeping noise to a minimum between 11pm and 7am.
*A non-refundable deposit equal to the first night of the stay is required at the time of booking, The balance is due for payment on arrival.
Things to do on site and in the Isle Of North Uist area
Set in a bay, this site has plenty of things to do on its doorstep. The beautiful sandy beach only 40 metres from the entrance is great for walking, paddling, swimming, kayaking and kite surfing. You can take advantage of the great fresh water and sea fishing with local companies and clubs to guide you.
Running alongside the site is the Balranald Nature Reserve where you can see local wildlife. May is the best month for seeing corncrakes but bird lovers can also see lots of wading birds such as the oystercatcher, lapwing, redshank and dunlin. If you cast your eye to the water you may spot seals and even Porpoises out in the bay.
If you fancy a taste of the island, why not visit the award winning North Uist Distillery (35 minutes). Book a tour and tasting of the distillery or even a cocktail masterclass and see why Scotland makes some of the best drinks around.
