About Canvas and Campfires

This site offers that rural experience you get from camping in the great outdoors with the added glamour of luxury safari tents. Set just outside of Lampeter, with three Welsh National Parks all within easy reach, there is plenty of beautiful countryside around to explore. The site has just five safari tents set into the hillside of the 11-acre smallholding. Each tent is Westward facing to make the most of the amazing view and sunsets overlooking the Teifi Valley that guests can expect from staying here. All of the tents sleep up to six adults and are beautifully furnished. Upon entering, you'll find a spacious living room and fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, sink, single ring gas burner, a log burning stove with oven and hot place as well as pots, pans, crockery and glasses for all of your self catering needs. Tents Seren, Afon and Aderyn each have two bedrooms, one with a king sized bed, one twin room and a double cabin bed, hidden in a cupboard in the living area. In tents Enfys and Dyffryn, there is a room with a super king-sized bed which can be split into singles if required, as well as a room with bunk beds and a cabin bed in the living area. Bedding is provided, along with hot water bottles, extra blankets, board games and other thoughtful touches. All tents have a private toilet and separate private shower facilities across the field. Enfys and Dyffryn tents have a full sized, level access wet room attached to the back of them for accessibility. Outside you will also find your own covered decking area with seating as well as a separate picnic table and fire pit for each tent. The Seren tent, set at the highest point of the glade, even has a wood-fired hot tub to enjoy the sunset and a glass of wine. The site has 11 acres to explore, plus sheep, pigs and chickens that guests are welcome to get to know and help feed. There is also an onsite honesty shop selling local produce. It's a mere five minute drive to the historic market town of Lampeter and 15 to the Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron, both of which are filled with charming pubs, cafes and independent shops to explore. Beautiful beaches such as New Quay, Cei Bach, Llangrannog, Mwnt and Penbryn are all within 30 minutes of the campsite. Best yet, there's no need to find a dog sitter for your four-legged friends. Bring them along for the fun! Each tent has its own fire pit and cooking tripod for meals out in the open. The site is happy to host groups, with exclusive site hire available and the hosts able to arrange celebrations onsite for your groups needs. There is also a holiday cottage onsite.

A note from the site themselves...

We love our little corner of Ceredigion. From the westward facing view so you don't miss a sunset, to the amazing night sky. We love the old oaks and beech trees that scatter the land, that often have a sheep of chicken hiding behind them. The farm is a natural oasis and one that kids seem to revel in.

We are really proud of everything we have created, from our two accessible tents, to the guests who come back year after year. We also have a Visit Wales Gold Award for our glamping site, in 2023 only 16 glamping sites in the whole of Wales received a gold award.

We have created a wildlife haven on site, and get regular visits from a host of different birds, mammals and amphibia. We also love Ceredigion itself. It has an incredible coastline, resident dolphins, the breath-taking Cambrian Mountains, tranquil lakes, stunning waterfalls and ancient forests. It is smack bang in between the three Welsh national parks and a dark sky reserve.

The beauty, the bewitching, intoxicating nature of the place is that it is a place about being. It is a place to breathe, to relax, to rediscover, to reconnect. There is real beauty in the simplicity, a sense of the wilderness that remains untamed.
