An utterly charming village campsite

We found the Masons Arms through a quick Google search which led us to Campsites.co.uk. We chose it because it was equidistant between our previous stop and our next destination. We could not have been more delighted with the location in a chocolate box village and on the site of a charming thatched pub. The pub had Badger real ales and a good dinner menu and an excellent breakfast - we chose muesli, fruit and yoghurt because we had not been eating healthily, but there was a good range of cooked breakfast on offer, including American-style pancakes. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless. The pub has very pleasant garden areas. We would definitely recommend this as a camping stop.

Lovely stay

Gorgeous little pub with super friendly staff and owners, customer service excellent! Good food and drinks selection, all round nice little site. Only thing is I wish the showers stayed on a bit longer, hard to wash your hair one handed!

Very handy, behind a lovely pub

An excellent stop off point for travellers with good pub grub and quiet back garden spot. Facilities are all fine. The village is very pretty, we did a nice walk to Montacute House National Trust.

Lovely stay

Perfect little campsite. Great pitches, great pub, great food. Lovely locals.

Quiet, scenic with beautiful old pub

Lovely little campsite behind the pub. Friendly staff. Good facilities, clean and tidy. We had a breakfast the next morning which was very nice. Great little dog exercise enclosure perfect for the pooches. The only negative is if you are not used to driving, there are very small country lanes.

Small, but adequate facilities

Situated behind a pub which was unfortunately closed for our visit. Site is small and quiet with adequate facilities.

Lovely site

Lovely site. Was a little narrow getting through the lanes so glad it wasn't height of summer. We had hard standing with electricity and it was the only one which is next to the water tap so you do have people walking past, but we didn't mind that. The pub served wonderful food, which saved us cooking and catered for Gluten Free - bonus.

Very lovely place with beautiful scenery and it was very friendly and welcoming.

Lovely, lovely site

This is the nicest of sites run by a lovely family. Facilities are immaculate. Pub is lovely with great food (make sure you book). It's got great walks from the door and only about a mile from Montacute National Trust property. Conveniently close to A303 if heading to the South West It's even better if you have a dog. Really dog friendly. Will definitely book again. We loved it.

A great location for Yeovil

A warm welcome when we arrived. A good nice dog friendly pub with all the facilities for a campervan stopover, with the option of a cooked breakfast in the pub, which for us finished a lovely weekend.

Lovely

Lovely little site attached to a beautiful thatched pub with good food, atmosphere, dog friendly with a welcoming landlady and staff. Would recommend.

Little gem

Lovely small campsite. Nice and quiet. Great pub on-site - food was excellent. Points to note 1. Unisex facilities may not appeal to some (we had no problem). 2. Take care turning into the site; take your time. Added to our list of favourite stays.

Great set up, lovely location, friendly team

Had a one night stop over at the Mason Arms and what a great set up they gave there. Site is situated in a lovely village, the pub does gorgeous good, great facilities all round. We would definitely visit again, big thumbs up!

Lovely little site

Lovely site. Lovely location. Lovely beer garden. Lovely staff. Facilities very clean. Lovely all round. The only thing stops me giving it 5 stars is unisex toilets/showers. Probably just me being old fashioned!

Another lovely stay at The Masons Arms. Pub is lovely had a Sunday roast, it was 5 star.

Great stay

Lovely thatched pub with outdoor area. Campsite located behind it at a lower level. Peaceful and quiet stay. Just what we were looking for. Well done.

Beautiful setting

Spent the coronation weekend here. It was a lovely setting and when we dealt with staff they were very helpful and friendly.

Rural retreat

Nicely hidden in a quite village, the site has everything we needed including a great pub with good food and friendly staff. Yet it's only a short drive to nearby towns and attractions. We have already booked our next visit.

Lovely quiet weekend away

We had a wonderful weekend at The Masons Arms. It was a really friendly, quiet site, the staff were great and really helpful, food at the pub was lovely. The only thing I wasn't so keen on (but wouldn't stop me going back!) was that there are only 2 showers and 2 toilets, which are both communal but always very clean and only one washing up sink but for a small site is ok. Friends stayed in the Shepherd's hut which was lovely, they said the bed was really comfy!

Motorhome holiday

Just had 3 nights at The Mason Arms in our motorhome. Brilliant holiday for 2 adults and 2 pugs. We loved it, lovely corner pitch, weather fantastic, pub food amazing and so was the ale. Staff very polite and friendly! Met some lovely people. Will be back again.

Great site

Loved the campsite. Camping field was well looked after and toilets and showers were very clean. Staff in the pub were very friendly and helpful. Good food and nice beer garden. Small exercise area for dogs. Approach a bit tight for a small motorhome and surrounding roads are very tight in some directions. Small farm shop and nursery very close. Sherborne is worth a visit nearby. Very pretty setting, would recommend.

Very good value for your money

There was a minor improvement to make (the shower heads could use a descaling) but overall, very good value for money and a really pleasant and clean campsite.

Great little campsite

Great little campsite - max 15 pitches and half with electric and a few hard standing pitches which is the one we had. We didn't realise at the time but we were right by the only water tap - another one on the field would be good as we had to park right to it to get on the pitch. Site was lovely and quiet it did fill up over the few days but no trouble at all. The facilities were all clean and very tidy, perhaps could do with another shower and toilet when the site is full but didn't have to wait long. The fact the pub is on the doorstep was a bonus and we ate in there a couple of times and found the food to be good. Would return again!
