A note from the site themselves...

Our site is great for wildlife. In the sky, you will see the majestic Red Kites soaring above you with their distinctive markings. A wild cat has also been tagged and released by a nature group so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!

We have a special location situated next to the River Blackwater and some of the Munro mountains almost on the doorstep. Everyone is drawn to the river, not only to watch our local Heron who loves to fish on our stretch of the river but also to enjoy paddling and even swimming. We even sometimes spot otters!

Myself and the team hope to welcome you soon, Martyn

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring PitchesSep 2024

I visited at the end of the season and had the place almost to myself. A lovely setting by a river with lovely views. The facilities were clean and good value for money. An excellent shop next to the site and a brilliant chippy down the road (best haggis supper I have ever had!). The site owner was an absolute star - really helpful.

Small Tent - Non-Electric Grass Tent PitchesSep 2024

Camped in a small tent for 3 nights at the end of September and have no complaints. The site is in a great location, facilities were kept perfectly clean throughout our stay (nice electric showers, good washing up areas and clean toilets). Martyn, the site owner, provided some great recommendations for the local area and all-round was very hospitable and friendly. There is also a well stocked and friendly village shop right next to the campsite. I fully recommend camping here.

This is a great place to get active, with top notch hiking for those keen to explore the Munro mountains where you can try your hand at Munro bagging!

A short walk from the campsite will allow you to pick up many walking trails, including the glorious Rogie Falls where you might be lucky enough to see salmon leaping, depending on time of the year.

Just two miles away is Moy Rock, a favourite place for climbers. The famous Strathpuffer mountain bike race event is held just a short walk away from site so there are great mountain bike trails also. There is a bike rental shop in Strathpeffer (two miles away).

The site is on the North Coast 500, so why not take the road trip of a lifetime?

If you're keen to fish, the river is temptingly close and you can also try your luck with salmon and trout in the River Contin.

Other top attractions in the area:

  • Loch Ness
  • Ben Nevis
  • Urquhart Castle
  • Highland Museum of Childhood
