About Monkton Wyld Holiday Park
This family-friendly multi award-winning site is the perfect spot for getting away with friends and family to uncrowded pitches, allowing you to simply stop and relax. You'll be staying on the Dorset and Devon border, just ten minutes from the coastal village of Charmouth and the historic harbour town of Lyme Regis. Nearby the villages of Beer and Branscombe, and the towns of Seaton and Sidmouth each have their unique and special attractions along the Jurassic Coast. All pitches are spacious and set in small paddocks surrounded by well trimmed hedges and shrubs. Suzie and her team of receptionists will do their very best to ensure you have a pitch that meets your needs whilst the grounds team look after the conservation meadow, wildlife wood, and, of course, all the hedges and general site maintenance. Pitches accommodate all types of units, including extra large tents and jumbo motorhomes. Food vans are on site several nights a week to cater for you. Other pitches from include grass, hardstanding, all weather and RV pitches, each with the option of 16 amp electric. Tents, trailer tents, and tourers can also opt for of the 22 electric hardstanding pitches which come with an individual water point. The park is proud to have been awarded the David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation with special prizes for hedgerows, wildflowers, woodlands and being bee friendly. They are also consistent winners of the Loo of the Year Award, recently being awarded Diamond, and have also received Trip Advisor accolades. The play area caters for all ages with the toddler area right through to the swinging seesaw. There is also a games room with a pool table, air hockey and a foosball game. The site is also super dog friendly with two onsite dog walks including a doggy paddock where they can run free and a shorter woodland walk that is lit up with fairy lights for popping out at night. A dog wash provides somewhere to get them clean, with dog biscuits, dog gifts and doggy ice cream available from the shop for treating them afterwards! BBQs are welcome, just please ensure they are raised off the ground (stands are available).

Things to do on site and in the Charmouth area
On site, start by breathing in the fresh air and relaxing in the countryside. This is a perfect spot for barbecuing or just enjoying time with your family. From the nature trail to the Monkton Wyldlife hut the site take their countryside seriously.
For active types, Lyme Regis Golf Club is just five minutes away, or for fishing head to Amherst Lodge Farm Fly Fishing And Fly Fishing Tuition (five minutes).
There are great birdwatching spots at Seaton Wetlands (15 minutes). You're surrounded by caves and the coast, with footpaths through wonderful countryside to walk.
There is always a special event happening in West Dorset or East Devon during the main summer months from agricultural shows, village fairs, antique and craft days, art exhibitions to the unusual such as Bridport Hat Festival (20 minutes).
Lyme Regis has a carnival, Life Boat Week, folk festival, fossil festival, and food festival organised by Mark Hix and not to be forgotten is Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage HQ just a mile away.
Many famous names from the past have enjoyed Lyme Regis - Sir John Betjeman, J.R.R. Tolkien, G.K. Chesterton, Beatrix Potter, Oscar Wilde. Even Colin Dexter, the author of the Inspector Morse novels, once described Lyme Regis as his "favourite place on Earth".
The local bus stop is a 20 minute flat walk and within minutes you can be dropped off in the centre of town or go all the way to Bridport, West Bay and Weymouth.
Charmouth (five minutes), centre of the Jurassic Coast, is very close and car parking is not a problem there. It's where Mary Anning discovered the first identified Ichthyosaur skeleton and became the subject of the tongue twister 'she sells sea shells on the sea shore'.
The Norman Lockyer Observatory is at Sidmouth (30 minutes) where you can view the night sky or visit the International Folk Festival in August.
