Lovely pod

My partner and I stayed here with our dog and the pod is beautiful, big and very clean. Perfect location with lots of walks nearby. The pub sells beautiful home cooked food and good value for money. We will definitely recommend this pod to all our friends and family and I’m sure we will be returning. The welcome basket of goodies was a lovely treat and we are very grateful for it. Massive thank you to Jo & John.

Amazing

Absolutely perfect, we loved the area, walks and it was so peaceful. Will definitely look at going back. The people were so friendly and helpful, it was an amazing stay.

Fantastic

Jo and john made us feel welcome. The Pod was spotless. Jo left some amazing welcome treats. Bailey our dog loved it. We had a lovely dinner in the pub opposite. Not much more that I can say, but fantastic and thank you, we will be back, I'm sure.

Excellent Pod

We only booked this a week or so in advance and what a fabulous little weekend away we had. A great little Pod, which is spotlessly clean inside and just big enough for 2 with one dog. The set up was great, in its own enclosure which is gated, so great to let the dog run around. We were left a lovely welcome pack of bread, milk, pastries, biscuits, butter, coffee, tea, and other snacks. What a very thoughtful idea. In the bathroom was shower gel shampoo and conditioner. Just needed our own bedding and towel for a shower. It has a little equipped kitchenette and sofa bed, which is so comfortable and roomy to sleep on. The pub opposite is a lovely old pub. Friendly and very helpful staff and landlord, and the food was superb. All freshly made, highly recommend. We will definitely recommend this to friends and family. Lovely walks nearby including Teggs Nose Country Park and a reservoir to walk around right next to the Pod. A great little place for a nice quiet getaway. Thank you Jo and John for a great stay.

Perfect weekend stay

Booked the pod for a present for my partners birthday. Location was fantastic with a beautiful view, close to town and the hills. John and Jo were lovely hosts, hope to be back soon!

Beyond expectations- absolutely lovely

Beautiful location with a lovely view over fields. Reservoir to walk around. Private and quiet. Jo went above and beyond to help us. Thank you for the treats and help with missing bedding! Good pub grub in the pub opposite. Landlord Jon was very helpful. We used it as a base for Buxton and Chatsworth.

An ideal getaway

Well what can we say. A perfect little pod for a rural get away close to Macclesfield Forest. From the initial booking to the final day, the hosts couldn't have done enough to make the stay go any smoother. Texts confirming the process for getting into the pod, after booking. To a friendly heads up from John to say we could be flexible with our check out time the day before we left. The pod itself was perfect, minimal and just enough for a nice relaxed weekend away. Clean and well kept. Good parking space and outdoor area. The pod is as close as you can get to the local reservoir, a lovely place for a short walk post meal in the pub. Or ideal to extend and create a walk of any distance around the local forests and surrounding areas. The pup across was a great bonus for us, dog friendly and decent food. Be mindful it can get very busy on a weekend and evening when the sun's out, worth calling by early. We were greeted on our first evening by John who was very friendly and took time to get to know us. Service was good and the team very friendly. Would we return? 100%, it's a great little spot and good value for money.

Our brilliant stay at the Forest Pod

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Pod this weekend. We had an amazing time. Jo and John very welcoming and accommodating, they provided excellent service and gave us insight into the local area and which walks to take in the forest! The pod is clean and cosy with everything you need inside. The location is perfect, with enough privacy to feel sheltered and tucked away but close enough to both the excellent pub 'Leathers smithy' and forest itself. We will be sure to tell our family and friends about this Pod and plan to visit again later in the summer!

Amazing pod and location

We stayed in the pod for 2 nights and it was absolutely amazing. Beautiful location with routes for lovely scenic hikes. The pub across the road is lovely for drinks and food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back again! Thank you to the hosts. Would 100% recommend!

Great pod

Arrived to find the owners at the pod. They were very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was exactly as described and had everything needed for a short break. The area is superb and so accessible for walking and our dog loved the enclosure surrounding the pod. My husband and I would recommend this to anyone. Could not believe how much we enjoyed it and extend our heartfelt thanks to Jo and John. We will definitely be back.

Fab pod and friendly pub in a beautiful location

We loved our little break here and were made to feel very welcome. The pod was well equipped with everything we needed and there was a lovely basket of treats on arrival. There was a heater which quickly made it very cosy. The pub (just across the road) is great and the food was good. There are walks around reservoirs and forests right on the doorstep and we really enjoyed exploring the trails with our dog. Thank you for a lovely stay 😊

Lovely little camping pod.

Lovely little camping pod. Perfect for a few nights break, great location for hiking etc. with many varied routes nearby. Jo and John provided a welcome basket with specific vegan treats for me which was a sweet touch! The pub over the road is really nice and has a great menu with some vegan friendly options, which were delish!

Forest Pod, October 2023

Visited this pod in October '23. The pod was very cute and had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. A basket of goodies was a really lovely gesture, it included bread bakery items, coffee, tea, biscuits and the fridge had milk and juice inside. The views from the pod were amazing, even had horses in the field. The area was very remote, just a pub that served amazing food. There were also plenty of walking paths through the forest. Would definitely go again, perhaps in the summer - a lovely place.
