About Castlewigg Holiday Park
A very warm welcome awaits you at this small and friendly holiday park, in the heart of the Machars peninsula, in South West Scotland. Set just 18 miles south of Newton Stewart and two miles north of Whithorn on the A746, the park is surrounded by beautiful unspoilt countryside, and there are sandy beaches just 5 miles away. This is an ideal retreat for those seeking peace and tranquillity, as well the more active among you. Here you'll find camping and touring pitches with and without EHUs, plus the option to own static caravan holiday homes. The mild climate provided by the Gulf Stream makes Castlewigg the perfect place for your well deserved holiday either way.
The park is open 50 weeks of the year for camping and statics, closing only for the last two weeks in January.

12 x Electric Grass Pitches
Touring pitches with electric hook-up points. There is a very slight slope on some of the pitches.
7 x Non Electric Grass Pitches
Grass pitches without EHUs. There is a very slight slope on some of the pitches.
3 x All Weather Pitches
Three pitches have Golpla under the turf for use in all weathers. There is a very slight slope on some of the pitches.

Site rules and policies
All visitors must report to reception on arrival.
Speed limit on the park is strictly 5 mph.
Dogs and cats must be kept on a lead at all time on the park, except in the designated area.
Vacate your pitch by 12 noon on the day of departure.
No children or pets to be left on the park without a responsible adult.
Noise to be kept to a minimum and zero noise after 10pm.
Things to do on site and in the Newton Stewart area
For the more adventurous there is an off road experience driving centre where, as well as the normal 4x4, they have a variety of ex army vehicles you can try your hand in.
The park is an ideal base for exploring Wigtownshire, with its beautiful countryside, coastlines and the towns and villages of the Machars. Whether uncovering the pretty harbour towns of Whithorn, Garlieston and Port William or getting lost in the booktown of Wigtown, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The golden sands at Monreith Beach are extremely popular with beach lovers. For an even more relaxed holiday, pubs and restaurants are within easy reach too. Other local activities include walking, cycling, bird watching and a number of outstanding golf courses to test your skills.
