Solway View Campsite is your chance to relax beside stunning views of the Solway Firth along Scotland's dramatic coastline. This pet friendly site welcomes campers and tourers and also provides stylish Wigwam glamping pods with top notch facilities.
About Solway View Campsite
Not far from Kirkcudbright, Gatehouse of Fleet and Castle Douglas is this lovely site, set in a beautiful location on a working farm amongst Scotland's incredible countryside. The region also has 200 miles of breathtaking coastline, green rolling hills and a popular forest park. Solway View is very assessible for the South West Coastal 300 Route (SWC300) and is centrally located to explore the areas attractions. On site there are grass pitches available for tents and small campervans in a spacious field with optional EHUs (please request when booking). All camping and touring pitches enjoy the lovely touch of a picnic bench and campfire area, so this site is perfect for toasting marshmallows. For tourers in caravans and motorhomes there are hardstanding pitches with picnic bench. They all have a grassy areas beside them, free space for awnings and EHUs provided. Glampers staying in the wigwams (wooden pods) will enjoy raised sleeping platforms, complete with mattresses and an ensuite toilet. You will also have a stylish cooking area that includes a microwave/grill, kettle, toaster and fridge to keep you well stocked. All you need to remember to bring is your sleeping bags and pillows. If bringing a pet, please being their bed. Outside each wigwam there is a parking area, picnic bench, campfire area and a great sea view. The site is pet friendly, accepting up to two pets per pitch or wigwam pod.

Well-sized pitches for tents and small camper vans, some with electric hook-ups and all featuring picnic benches and a campfire area. Pets on leads welcome, max. 2 pets per pitch.
10 x Touring Pitches
These pitches are hardstanding with a grass area. They include electric hook-ups, a picnic bench and a campfire area. Pitches are to suit caravans and motorhomes. Pets on leads welcome, max. 2 pets per pitch.

Site rules and policies
ARRIVAL - WIGWAM - On date stated per booking & during the hours of 3.30pm - 8pm.
ARRIVAL - PITCH - On date stated per booking & during the hours of 12 noon - 8pm.
DEPARTURE
-PITCH - On date stated on booking and by 11am.
-WIGWAM - On date stated on booking and by 10.30am
Please note, late departure must be agreed by owners prior to the day of departure.
SMOKING AREAS - No Smoking in all public access buildings. Smoking is permitted outside only.
FIRES/BBQ - Permitted in designated areas only. Always attend to and keep your fire under control. Please extinguish prior to retiring for the evening. You are responsible for any damage/injury caused by your fire/BBQ. Firewood used to be purchased on site.
PETS - To be on a lead at all times on site/farm. New dog run area at site where dogs are allowed off lead. Clean up after your pet. Bring own pet basket/bedding. Never leave a pet unattended in the wigwams. ONLY Guide dogs are allowed in WC/Shower block.

Things to do on site and in the Kirkcudbright area
Guests on site will find lovely farm and woodland walks to keep them active, and plenty of space for ball games. There's also the chance to play 9 holes of disc golf.
Kirkcudbright is the nearest town and has a great selection of independent shops for you to browse. If you want to eat out - there are plenty of great places to test your foodie skills.
Galloway Forest Park is the alternative for anyone looking for an experience that is anything but urban. Here there's the beauty of nature and it's a famous Dark Sky Park, offering incredible stargazing opportunities.
The area is a haven for walkers, with many fantastic routes to explore. Try the Threave Castle circuit near Castle Douglas, or the Kirkcudbright Explorer Way. There are farm and woodland walks accessible from site - and it's just a short walk to the sea.
Chauffeur driven private tours are available of the historic surrounding area, or if you are keen to meet the four-legged residents of this spot, you can book a nocturnal wildlife tour. Using night vision equipment, you'll see local animals like never before!
