Just ten minutes from the Lincolnshire Wolds, The Red Lion is a family friendly and welcoming destination set in the grounds of a 19th century coaching inn. There are grass and hardstanding pitches for tents and tourers spread across the one acre site, with the pub serving a range of tasty dishes every day. Skegness is within a half hour's drive from the site, and you'll have walks along the Wolds on your doorstep.

About The Red Lion
Situated next to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is a great location for exploring all that this beautiful county has to offer. Located in the grounds of a charming pub, you can also enjoy a tasty dinner with a short walk back to your pitch. Tents, trailer tents, caravans, campervans, RVs and motorhomes are all welcome on the site's 14 non electric grass pitches. Each of the pitches measures 9m x 6m and there are also an extra eight with a 16 amp electric hook up, though a 15m lead is recommended. Six hardstanding deluxe pitches are also available for caravans, campervans and motorhomes. The pitches measure 9m x 6m and come with a 16 amp electric and water hook up, along with having a grassed area. There are also static caravans available to hire on site. The owners here love their site and are passionate about the local area and its rich history. Their RAF pub displays a rich history including a table engraved with the names of troops from the air base during WWII. BBQ's and campfires in fire pits are allowed, just as long as they are raised from the ground. Dogs are welcome too, with up to two allowed per pitch.
The Red Lion is open all year round in 2024 and 2025.

Things to do on site and in the Spilsby area
Both walkers and cyclists will be spoilt for choice with the Wolds on your doorstep, ideal for treks up the chalk hills and with stunning views from the peaks. The Viking Way (25 minutes) can be accessed from Horncastle and takes you through picturesque gems including Rutland Water.
Go and see the sights at Skegness (30 minutes), where you can enjoy a day chilling on the sandy shores or taking a dip in the sea. Take a stroll down the Skegness Pier and pay a visit to the arcade, bowling alley or laser quest.
A 30 minute drive away you can also find Natureland Seal Sanctuary, here you can meet the injured and orphaned seals being nurtured back to health and help support a great cause.
History lovers are a ten minute walk from the Aviation Heritage Centre. Here you can find a collection of WW2 aircraft, along with a range of fascinating exhibitions.
