Waltonholt is a rural and hidden away site, just 15 minutes from the Lincolnshire coast and Skegness. This small campsite welcomes both tents and tourers on its ten grass pitches, each with a 10 amp metered electric hook up. With friendly owners, stunning sandy beaches nearby and a charming county pub just a ten minute walk away, the site has everything you need for a brilliant back-to-basics camping trip!

The site was clean and John was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We found paying for the electricity as we used it really worked for us, as we didn't use too much, saving quite a lot compared to paying for a fully serviced pitch at other sites. Although, it might be expensive if running a heater all night. It was a small site with plenty of space for children to run around. The showers are £1 for 14 minutes. This runs all the facilities in the shower room (hairdryer and taps included). Teeth can be brushed in the toilet or washing up sinks. Toilets look like portaloos, but were clean, had a proper flush and running water - only down side is there are only 2, although this didn't cause us any issues. The Red Lion was convenient, although the walk down the road has no path, so you need to be careful.
Quaint, quiet and well-kept

Knowing we wouldn't be arriving till late, John dropped me a text message with pictures of which pitches we'd be staying on for the weekend, which was very helpful. He also popped by in the morning to say hello which was really lovely! The site is a large, level field, with very generously sized pitches, multiple water access points and electricity as an option per pitch. We were allowed to pull up and park on our pitch which was really handy for unloading. The facilities were clean and well stocked with loo roll and soap. To my knowledge, there wasn't a light in the loos, so a head torch was needed on nightly trips! The area was lovely and quiet, and not too far from Skegness beach where we took a day trip. Only one note with the location is that the junction to turn onto the site is on a corner of national speed limit road, with no pedestrian access, so it felt a bit unsafe to walk down to Orby. That being said, we hopped in the car instead and had a lovely drink at the dog friendly local pub, The Red Lion. I would recommend this site!

Fantastic little campsite within 20 minutes of Skegness, Ingoldmells and Fantasy Island. And 30 minutes from Mablethorpe. The campsite is clean and tidy and the facilities are spot on. We loved the little picnic benches around the campsite :-) We will be booking back in for sure for our next year holiday.

Lovely, quiet campsite, gave 2 of my grandchildren opportunity to run around and not be overcrowded, being able to deal with their autism when overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of Skegness. Amenities very basic but very clean toilet and shower. Reasonable price, although this didn't include electrics or shower, but quite affordable in comparison to a lot of other campsites. The only down side was that there wasn't a play ground, but the kids where able to use their imagination and get off electronic devices by playing games.

Good to see you, thank you for your kind comments, our charges for electricity and shower are largely by request, we have a large proportion of customers who want a basic price commenting they don’t wish to pay for the more demanding customers facilities, leaving a choice. 👍

We only ended up staying 1 night and coming home the 2nd evening. But this was due to the weather, not the campsite. We had an amazing stay regardless of the non-stop rain. We will be back.

Great all round holiday. Facilities, toilets and showers kept very clean and there was plenty of space on the pitch. Picnic table provided was a great little extra. Far enough away from the centre of things to be quiet on a night time. Definitely worth visiting again.

Nice quiet site. Away from Skegness but within easy reach and the coast. Lots of pitch space, electric meter was easy and worked well. Toilet and shower, while basic, was adequate. It was a speedway weekend and you could hear some car noise, but not enough to bother, I liked it. John was brilliant and helpful. A laid back friendly site. Plenty of space and nice and peaceful.

Was ok, grass had just been cut and was wet so that was a problem. The shower cleaning on Sunday morning was out of service at 8am which meant having to wait a few hours to use the loo. Generally a nice place.

Thank you for you review and for visiting us, Jeff. Since about Easter the weather has been warm and wet (ideal growing conditions) which puts us between 'between the devil and the deep blue sea', we either don't cut grass and get complaints, or it gets too long and complaints, we can't collect when it's long and wet. On the Sunday morning the toilets and showers were cleaned at 6 am as Val was going out, she noticed that the engaged/vacant sign on the lock had been damaged Saturday and wasn't turning whilst the lock was working. This will be replaced today when 'Screwfix' get their replacement. But the toilets and showers were available from 06:30. I was also on site all morning maintaining a mower, so would have only too pleased to advise. Thank you for your visit with your two tents and I hope to see you in the future. John.

John was very lovely and welcoming. The site was very nice and clean and the facilities were very easy to use. The electricity is pre paid and there is a vending machine you can buy cards and a few other bits that is coins only. Would definitely recommend staying there if you don't mind the drive/paying to park at the beach.
Site's response
Pleased you enjoyed your stay, look forward to seeing you again. I’m afraid nearly the whole of the East Lindsey coastline car parking is now chargeable, perhaps a sign of the times. John.

Brilliant. We are looking at going back in May. Lovely site and lovely owners! You pay for how much electric you use which was great as we don't use a lot! The site is situated in a lovely place and they provide fire pits and you can buy logs off them or buy your own. They really do need another shower but that is already being built as that was our only snag. The showers are a pound for 15 mins, which was great and this also included use of hairdryer which was great. The owners are lovely. I do also think the piece of grass behind the lovely trees could be used as the kids play area, maybe putting football nets there. We will definitely be back. Great price, great location and lovely owners! The kids loved it! We loved it! We were a family of 2 adults 4 children ages 13, 9, 5 and 2 and had a large tent
