Ash Meadow is located in West Herefordshire's 'Golden Valley' just a few miles miles from the border town of Hay-on-Wye, famous for its second hand books, quirky shops and the Hay Literary Festival. The site is calm and private, with only farm animals and a running stream to disturb your peace.
About Ash Meadow Certificated Location
A quiet and secluded site with lovely views over the Golden Valley that make for a perfect country retreat. The site is in a large, gently sloping field with a stream at the bottom that babbles happily past a lovely picnic area. Guests have the use of the 3.5 acre meadow, subject to farming activities, which may include haymaking. It's the best of both worlds, well away from busy motorways but with easy access for touring vehicles. Charming wildlife is often seen on site, and the farm has free-range chickens that love to explore. For this reason unfortunately dogs cannot visit, but there will be plenty of other animal friends. There is also a holiday cottage to rent and caravan storage available. All pitches have electric hook-up and are generously spaced with plenty of room for awnings, pup tents and whatever you may need. Modern shower and toilet facilities are provided in a purpose built and well equipped amenity block. The CL produces its own electricity from PV panels on the roof to supply everyone.

Things to do on site and in the Hereford area
Ash Meadow houses two craft workshops for local artists, open to the public for browsing, so why not look for lovely new pieces or learn about the manufacturing process? They contain textile pieces and fire pits and accessories, all beautifully hand made.
The site is an excellent base for exploring the area around the Welsh Borders, Hay-on-Wye, Hereford, The Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and the Wye Valley.
The local area caters for many outdoor recreation activities including walking, bird watching, pony trekking, cycling, canoeing and climbing. Keen explorers will love the Black and White Village Trail as a way to get under the skin of rural life in the area.
There are excellent shops, sports centres and a swimming pool in the cathedral city of Hereford 15 miles away. For drizzly days, Hereford can entertain with its Waterworks Museum and for adults, the Chase Distillery offers tempting tours.
