About Waterside Farm Campsite
This lakeside site is home to a flock of Swaledale Ewes, who spend most of their time on the nearby Barton Fell taking life at a very calm pace. Waterside House provides comfortable facilities and a peaceful park in which to relax and reconnect with nature in the midst of the surrounding lakes. The site is popular with families, couples, walkers and a few well-supervised groups who enjoy the natural beauty of the area. This is a real country experience that can captivate children who love animals, and at certain times of the year you may see the sheep being dipped, sheared or even lambs being born in the spring. You will certainly see sheepdogs at work on a regular basis and cattle and calves peacefully roaming in a nearby field. Located within the north of the Lake District National Park, the site makes it easy for visitors to get around the Lakes and explore fully, thanks to excellent bus connections nearby. Campers can pitch a tent with or without an electric hook-up and may be able to grab one of the coveted premium lakeside view pitches, for an amazing sunset experience every day. The site has a glamping field with lakeside pods (without beds) and furnished tipis for those who like to experience some home comforts. The glamping pods are perfect for a family of four, and are well insulated with electricity, lighting and heating facilities. There's also a decking area to relax and enjoy the stunning views! Meanwhile, tipis offer real beds, a fire pit for traditional camp outs and kitchen equipment for rustic cooking. Sit outside and rustle up some dinner while dusk falls on the lake. For pods, bring everything you'll need except a tent (as these are empty inside) and for furnished tipis, just bring warm clothes, bedding and towels. These are a chance to experience England's beauty without facing adverse weather.
The pods and general site are open from the March until mid November. Lakeside Tipis are available from the end of April through to the end of September.
