A brilliant glamping place with wonderful views and a beautiful lake! The cabins are very well fitted out and although they are small they are super comfortable. All the appliances worked, but the underfloor heating programmer is hard to use so we had one slightly cold night. The site is as described but also has an EV charger and a cafe next door (at weekends). One thing to note is that the cabins are quite close to each other and it doesn't look so close in the booking page, so just something to bear in mind over very busy periods. (think typical campsite distance between the cabins). This was not a problem as we had the place to ourselves.
Site's response
So pleased you had a good time and enjoyed our wonderful views. Sorry you struggled with the thermostat for the heating, the system requires no reprogramming, we can also control it remotely (if guests do not reset itπ¬), so we could have sorted any issues for you if requested. The underfloor systems are quite new and I will be updating the cabin booklets with appropriate instructions over the winter, to avoid any future confusion. You are correct that the cabins are fairly close within their 2 groups of 3, we were restricted by planning and public footpaths when we put them in. We have tried to ensure each has a private outdoor area that doesn't get overlooked by others, and positioning the cabins carefully. The majority of our guests agree that despite the closeness, they don't feel crowded or overlooked even when we are busy. It helps that we only have 6 of them, there's never that many people staying with us! Thank you so much for the feedback, it's always really appreciated. Jo and Ben π

Every now and then, I take myself away for a couple of nights to get away from the daily routine and spend time out in the countryside. This time I chose a Langley Dam Pod as I decided to take my Norwegian Elkhound pup, Elsa, for company. I stayed in Blackcleugh Pod which was closest to the lake, had a lovely view and easy access to the path that took you on a lovely short walk around it. It is close to the kids play area so may be noisy if there are children staying, but perfect if they are yours! The Pod was spotless, had everything you needed - I paid extra for the upgrade which included bedding/towels/kitchen equipment. Worth noting that the master bed is in an alcove and not easy to make yourself if limited mobility! The pod housekeeper must be an expert at this! The only thing I didn't take but could be useful was a measuring jug. It was spacious pod, a very comfortable bed and cosy even when it was raining and chilly. There were maps, binoculars, a torch and other handy items to use. We were fortunate to watch a beautiful sunrise and sunset as we walked around the dam, which we did at least twice each day as it is a nice, gentle walk with benches here and there to use if available. I am not into angling but I imagine if you are, this would be a wonderful place to enjoy spending time enjoying it. Unfortunately, the pub and lodge cafe were closed midweek being out of season so we didn't get to enjoy that, instead we sat and enjoyed soup and cake on the decking. I didn't use the fire area unfortunately due to the weather and having Elsa with me, but the fire pack that is available at an extra cost of Β£10 had everything you needed. Great communication with Jo, who was very helpful. I have already recommended Langley Dam to an angling friend of mine.

Thank you so much for your detailed review Gail. Really glad you enjoyed the space and surroundings. Hopefully, if you return, the weather will be better! I can certainly add a small measuring jug to the kitchen inventory too! Many thanks for the feedback. Jo π

A lovely site in a beautiful location, with wonderful views of the hills and the lake right below the pods. The location is superb, set in peaceful, rolling countryside yet only a short drive from Hexham, so there's no need to worry about popping for fresh supplies. Ben and Jo provided excellent information and guidance before we arrived and the pod was everything promised on the website; spotlessly clean, warm, well lit and comfortable, with plenty of spare storage space (we were two blokes on motorbikes prepped for a typical unpredictable British summer, so having space for all our gear made life so much easier). The pod was also provisioned with all you could need, including a USB chargeable lamp, wind-up torch and Bluetooth speakers, so need for visitors to rough it! The pods are all arranged so that there is complete privacy when sitting out on the porch or around the firepit, even with neighbouring pods occupied. All in all, I thoroughly recommend Langley Dam glamping and am already planning my next stay there

Loved everything about the site - easy to find, friendly staff, cafe at the front, plenty of parking, clean and so peaceful. I can't walk far, but the lake is only about 1km to amble around and it's just beautiful, calm and relaxing. We stayed in the Humbleton pod, suitable for wheelchair users so although losing the fixed double bed as all other pods, the layout is to accommodate the wet room. The owners clearly take a lot of pride in the site and comfort of guests. Our husky loved it, plenty of space to wander around on site and enjoy watching the world go by from the pod and the homemade dog treats! Good Wi-Fi signal if you need it too! We will definitely return, thanks very much.

We have had a wonderful week at a very special little place! Run by very kind and thoughtful people (nothing too much trouble), the site is set out, managed and maintained extremely well. Great ethics and philosophy too. The pod we stayed in, well it was just great! The site is superbly located, central to and within easy striking distance of leisure based activities, such as riding and walking, as well as many interesting natural and historical attractions - towns, rivers and Romans! We have been very busy and have loved every moment. Thank you so much βΊοΈ

We had a great weekend. The location is beautiful, lovely and peaceful. Loads of adventures for the kids to get into. A great location to get around to visit all the sights. The pod was clean and tidy and everything was well thought of, we wanted for nothing. A really nice little cafe on site too, food was good. We would definitely book again.

Fantastic service from Jo, beautiful site and cabins so cosy and clean. We had a fully furnished pod and ours was so well equipped, better than many cottages I've been to. Really peaceful, except for the wind! And my kids! Nice time to visit as felt more at ease with the dog off the lead, no fishermen out with the wind I presume! Wi-Fi as well - a saviour with kids!

So glad you enjoyed your stay with us, and hope the kids had a good time too. Hopefully see you all again soon.

Absolutely loved my stay at this beautiful site. Jo is so welcoming and helpful, and the pod is well stocked with everything you might need, including a wind up torch! Stunning view across the lake, and so nice for a city lass to wake up to the sounds of bleating sheep and quacking ducks instead of noisy neighbours and cars! Thank you for 2 days of blissful relaxation!

A delightful piece of land with a lovely lake, a good pub nearby, a Co-op in easy reach and walks from the door. The pod was small but not cramped (for 2), the kitchenette was well stocked (fully equipped option) and the shower was great. I could have wished for a thicker mattress on the sofa bed, like those on the singles, but we wanted double so settled for it. If you have the option, and are able-bodied, it's worth looking at the other pods first as the layout is wheelchair friendly. The extra we paid for fuel for the firepit was well worthwhile (you can't use your own) and we accepted the option of local sausages (delicious) and the farm's own rump steaks (very good). Don't be put off by the welter of instructions in the confirmation communications, which was matched, on arrival, by signs everywhere telling you what's expected of you - just laugh it off, this place is as chilled as you like and the sunsets were glorious, sitting by the firepit with a beer in hand.
Site's response
Really glad you enjoyed your stay Liza. Yes - sorry about the array of instructions - we try as far as possible to have a 'hands off' approach so as not to disturb guests who are enjoying the peace and quiet at our site. But unfortunately that means we do have to communicate things somehow, and not everyone (- probably very few!) read the cabin brochure provided. If I could find a less obtrusive way of making sure guests put the correct recycling in the bin and no facial wipes down the loos I certainly would!!? Sadly, despite the signage, it's all still regularly ignored! Nobody ever warns you that when you run a campsite you become completely overwhelmed by waste management!! LOL!!? Hopefully see you again soon, Jo and Ben

We stayed in the Blackcleugh Pod with our 3 toddlers and we had a blast. The kids loved the camp fire and the pirate ship playground. Even though it was freezing outside, the pod stayed nice and warm. The bedding was very comfortable. My oldest son, 3 years old, had no problem climbing into the overhead bunk and has already asked when we are going back. Everything was very clean and was by far the most luxurious camping experience that we've ever had. Thank you Jo and company. We will be back!
