It has the oldest Saxon church in the country and is an ideal base for exploring County Durham. About The Gables Pod Camping
This is a single couple only retreat site that offers rest and relaxation. The secluded site is nestled in mature trees that provide the perfect backdrop for your pod. Each pod has its own private wood fired hot tub and is equipped with everything you will need for your stay. Here you'll find a personal touch that will make your stay a memorable one. Walks by the river and lake will restore your inner calm and then you can end your evening having a dip in the hot tub and a cosy night in the pod. This site is perfect for rest and relaxation. Unfortunately the site cannot cater for groups of people, hen or stag nights, family get togethers or guests wanting to book more than one pod.

Each pod and the clocktower cabin sleep 2 adults only. The pods have en suite facilities and the clocktower has hot water and toilet but no shower just yet. Each pod has a small kitchen and an ensuite. All bedding and towels are included for your stay.

We are not a party site. Please don't book with us if you want to have a party.
A £50 incidental deposit is required for the accommodation payable at check-in.

Check in is from 4pm check out at 11am.
We are a no noise site from 10.00pm until 7am so please observe our quiet hours and respect other glampers

Things to do on site and in the Bishop Auckland area
If you want to stay in the village, why not take a stroll along the river until you come to the lake and further along you'll come to paradise fishing lakes. It's only 10 minutes to the beautiful Escomb Lake and the River Wear.
It's easy to take a trip and explore The Angel of the North or Durham's gloriously ornate cathedral. For a full day out packed with history, drive to Beamish Museum and step into the world of yesteryear.
