We enjoyed our short stay, the touring field is an enclosed area of 10 pitches, one tap, Elsan point, no bins - they are at the top of the camping field, but you pass them as you exit. There is a tiny shop attached to Kendrick's café/restaurant. Very few of the pitches are level but huge blocks are provided. On arrival, there was confusion as to which pitches were vacant. I would recommend leaving a windbreak or table if you go out in your campervan, or you may find someone else in your spot on your return. This happened twice in one afternoon while we were there. We also had to move spot as it turned out someone was already using it! The bus stop is just outside the gate with regular buses into Dartmouth. Unfortunately, ball games seem to be allowed even though there is only a very small area in the middle.
Site's response
Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your short visit and found the location convenient, especially with the bus stop nearby for easy access to Dartmouth. We appreciate your comments about the touring field and the facilities. We’re sorry to hear about the confusion regarding pitch assignments and the inconvenience it caused. We’ll review our check-in procedures to ensure that pitch availability is communicated more clearly to avoid similar issues in the future. Thank you for your recommendations and for bringing these points to our attention. Your feedback helps us improve and enhance our services. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

We stayed at Leonard's Cove for two nights with a motorhome on a touring pitch, enjoying one wonderful day at Blackpool sands and a nice hike from the campsite to Dartmouth Castle on the second day. Summer Corner is definitely a great place for a relaxed sea-view snack!

Arrived in the rain to be met by a unfriendly reception member, as this was our first visit we thought it would be more welcoming. Not given any particular pitch, so just left to choose your own. All pitches are very sloppy, they did have chocks for use. As the week went on, we were told that they had a busy weekend coming up so our car would have to be moved away from caravan, and slowly, it did get busy to the point where you had to keep your blinds down for privacy. Needs more than one water tap as you have to walk between camper vans to fill up. Only 3 toilets and 3 showers each, men's hand dryer not working, ladies' floor always wet as the cold taps pumped it out too fast and the hot was barely a dribble. Be aware the shower block is up a loose gravel slope. Breakfast was over priced, sat outside only to have to listen to a grumpy member of staff swearing. Sorry, but won't be back.

We had a lovely stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone. The views were beautiful and a lovely location with just a short walk to the a beautiful beautiful beach. The facilities were lovely and kept clean. Bonus having a fridge if you don't have an electric pitch and a freezer and a microwave if you needed it.

Absolutely loved staying here because not only are there brilliant showers and toilets, but it's in a really great spot near a nice pub - Green Dragon - and a brilliant restaurant - Kendrick's. It's an easy downhill walk to the fabulous Blackpool Sands beach and the coastal path towards Salcombe. On the way in that direction, there's the brilliant King's Arms community pub in Strete, with its lovely pub garden with sea views. The camping part of the park is quite small but has a sea view.

Great location. We stayed on a grass pitch (bit muddy in March but didn't spoil it) and the staff could not have been more helpful, a really nice team. Fantastic views every morning and the Kendricks Bar / Restaurant team were really friendly with loads of top tips for the week and a nice place to meet fellow residents.
Noisy place

The campsite is close to a busy road and a church. It is awfully noisy place for camping. We paid extra for electric, but the socket was very different and we couldn't use it at all. They let people to check-in at 1 am! We were sleeping and then midnight two families came and set their tents! Also note that because of the location, it is very windy. Unfortunately, I don't recommend this place and I will not be returning.

Great stay at Leonards Cove. It's perfect for couples break, nice and peaceful. It was our first time camping so was definitely an experience. The 2 days were perfect but it was spoilt at the end after we had discovered someone had taken the pegs from our tent on the last day. This is no reflection on the holiday park though. I would suggest keeping an eye on all your things though. Overall, it was a lovely couple of days away.

Myself and my two boys (13 and 18) stayed for 7 nights on this tiered site. All of the pitches are slightly sloping, but with some well placed bits of slate our table and other bits, were made level. We slept feet down so not really a problem. The sites toilets could do with a refit. They are kept very clean but are now dated. The on site shop is spot on and the staff are absolutely brilliant. Kendrick's, which is the restaurant, serves wholesome food, great amounts in a lovely atmosphere. And let me just say, the view is to die for. I awoke at 6am to watch the sun appear out of the sea every day, and then in the evening the moon. What a perfect way to start and end your day. We saw dolphins at Strete Sands, both Blackpool Sands and Strete are great beaches. The Green Dragon pub is also a cracking night out again serving good food, and with live music.

We stayed in the family camping area, in the 'secret garden', so were away from the general bustle, but close to everything we needed. This location is extra nice as the pitches are level and you're a bit sheltered from wind. Toilet/showers were regularly cleaned and the little shop and restaurant are very handy. Staff were friendly and location excellent for beaches and beautiful Dartmouth. Only downside was the proximity of church bells but of course that's out of the resort's control. Recommended.

We had a lovely stay and booked last minute. Very friendly staff and location was great, bus stop just outside so easy to travel around. Facilities were clean and shower was hot. Site was quiet considering the size. Ate at local pub and food was delicious. Walked to Blackpool Sands which was lovely. Would stay again.
Great view but little else to recommend

Fantastic view and conveniently situated for Blackpool Sands but facilities extremely limited. Don't expect a great night sleep as there is a church bell chiming nearby throughout the night and pretty much constant traffic noise. Very inconvenient not being able to park next to pitch.

Secret garden - absolutely perfect for a family. Children enjoyed the space to play and peace of mind to parents, knowing where they are. Huge area and privately gated off. Really polite and friendly staff. Only downside, could have done with more toilets/showers and bins around the site. Will definitely look to stay again and recommend to friends to stay here.

Lovely quiet, well kept, friendly, and relaxing site. Facilities are simple but we're kept immaculately clean despite rain and muddy fields! Food at the on-site restaurant was delicious! Staff were very welcoming and friendly and happy to help. Only criticism really is that there isn't much within walking distance, but, this also adds to the chilled nature of the site!

We didn't arrive until 7.30pm due to traffic but didn't worry to much as in the confirmation it said check in up to 8.00pm. There was no one in reception so went to find our pitch, our confirmation said pitch 5 but there were no numbers on the pitches and we were told by one of the other campers to just park anywhere. We had to run our electric cable about 25m to plug in. All in all not very organised, but Dartmouth is a lovely place to visit.
Site's response
Hi Stephen, thank you for your review. In the information that we sent you, it does say that arrival times are between 12pm and 8pm. This is an arrival time, rather than a checking in time, as reception does close at 6pm. The 8pm cut off is to encourage guests not to arrive too late so as not to disturb the campers that are already here. However, we understand that late arrivals cannot always be helped due to traffic etc. The information also asks that if you are going to arrive after 5pm to give us a call, so we can advise you where to pitch. The pitch numbers are a part of our booking system rather that allocated spots, which is why we like to try and show you to your pitch personally. I do apologise for any confusion and I hope that you will come and stay with us again.

Location is fantastic. Facilities are okay, toilets are dirty (they do get cleaned in the morning but think they only get cleaned once a day and get dirty quickly). Pitch site is on a hill so you sleep rolling down! Very small camping area and it gets very very loud.
Looked good in the photos

The photos showed great views across the sea, and as you arrive at the site the view is wonderful but when you are pitched in the caravan/campervan field, you don't see the sea due to the field being below the tree line. The tent camping field does get great views but it's on quite a slope. The facilities are in small portacabins in the camping field and only 3 loos and showers for the whole site. Very disappointing for a site that seems to portray itself as a holiday centre. The nearest beach is Blackpool Sands, a 20 minute walk away, and 25 minutes up steep hills back. You could drive it and motorhomes are permitted to park there, so an option. The caravan field needed levellers and after the regular rain, several motorhomes needed towing off the grass onto the roadway. Also annoying was the noisy generator for the pizza kitchen, which continued from around 3pm till about 9pm For the way this site presents itself, for us it's very disappointing in reality.
Site's response
Hi Laurence. Thank you for taking the time to write us a review and I am very sorry that you found your experience of Leonards Cove to be disappointing. We have tried to include most of the details that you have mentioned in the description of the site so that guests know what to expect on arrival, including photos of the shower block and the touring field. I do appreciate your feedback and I will certainly look into updating the information available.

Great location with sea views. We were in the touring field which was quiet with a lovely sized pitch. Facilities onsite were great, only thing missing potentially was a play area for the kids, but apart from that, great site and will be booking for next summer.
