Spacious grass and hardstanding pitches welcome both tents and tourers, with electric hook ups available too. Surrounded by beautifully maintained grounds and with access to modern amenities, it is a great spot to pitch up and unwind. The attractions of Cheshire are also just 20 minutes away, with good road links nearby.

About Oakwood Campsite
Enjoy peace and quiet in the picturesque Cheshire countryside. Nestled between Chester and Stoke-on-Trent, you will also be within easy reach of great attractions whilst being able to enjoy the tranquillity of a rural location. There are a total of 31 grass pitches onsite, 25 with the addition of an electric hook up. Each pitch measures a spacious 9m x 9m, with only tents allowed on the non electric pitches, and tents and caravans on the electric pitches. Perfect for all weather, there are also seven 9m x 9m electric hardstanding pitches for tourers. All of the pitches allow a maximum of six guests, with wonderfully maintained grounds and mown grass all around. Dogs are also permitted to join you for your stay. You are welcome to use the bottom of the field to exercise your dogs and there is a mown path around it for this purpose.
Camping is available from April to September, hardstanding pitches are available from March to December.
Site facilities include toilets and showers, a disabled wet room and toilet, plus a washing-up point. There is also a small onsite shop (open 8am to 10am, and 5pm to 6pm).
For something to eat or drink, the Coach and Horses and Minshull's garden centre are within a ten minute walk. The garden centre offers a cafe and coffee shop serving both breakfast and lunch.

I booked 3 nights away on a whim and am so glad I did. The site is secure so no randoms can just turn up and be nosey. The toilet/shower block exceeded my expectation. Modern, tiled, clean and most of all showers were hot 🙂 The camping plot was plenty spacious with marker lights dotted around for at night and there were taps with drinking water also placed around the site. The site was clean, tidy and well looked after. As impulse decisions go, this turned out to be one of my best ones. Lucy was lovely, friendly and very welcoming. I will definitely be coming back again. Maybe not in Daddy Long-leg season as my tent was the perfect hideaway for them and hopefully next time it doesn't rain.

Our recent stay at Oakwood was a fantastic experience for the Mrs and J. The pitch sizes were great, providing ample space to set up comfortably, and we were fortunate to have a dry, no wind kind of day, which was super convenient. The park itself was well-maintained. We appreciated the family-friendly atmosphere whilst also being really relaxing for couples. The owner was another highlight of our stay, being super friendly and they were quick to help us navigate to our pitch. Located a small walk away from a lovely garden centre and nice pub, just be careful as the roads a little unsafe with no pavement but absolutely no reflection or fault of the campsite. All in all, Oakwood was a great camping site, and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quick stay in a peaceful area.

If you are a keen fisherman, Old Hough Coarse Fishery is a five minute drive away. There are a total of ten pools with over 200 pegs available!
Crewe is also only ten minutes away, with plenty to explore. The Crewe Heritage Centre offers a fascinating insight into local history, with great shows and plays often on at the Lyceum Theatre.
