North Rhinns Camping is a small, secluded and peaceful campsite, located some six miles from Stranraer and 10 miles from the harbour village of Portpatrick. It's the perfect choice for those who prefer a small site - this is like wild camping, with tents separated by trees to give privacy, but with clean facilities! Half hour drive from the ferries to Northern Ireland at Cairnryan.
About North Rhinns Camping
The site offers just under an acre of level camping ground, while the rest is woodland or steeply sloping. Catering mainly for tents (7 maximum), the site also has space for three small campervans, such as VWs, Bongos, and the like. Electric hook-ups are available. Trees and bushes separate most of the pitches, giving privacy to campers, while cars are parked away from tents (with wheelbarrows available to transport your equipment).
The site is open from beginning of March until the end of October
There are 10 accommodation options on-site
7 x Grass Tent Pitches
Choice of grass pitches for tent campers, all with campfire hearth and either a picnic table or bench seat on smaller pitches. Four pitches have electric hookup and all are separated by bushes, trees or a change in ground level.
3 x Hardstanding Pitches
Hardstanding pitches suitable for campervans of up to 6.4 metres, or small tents on the grass to the side with car parking and electric. Priority for older or disabled campers if a tent is pitched.

Site rules and policies
CAMPSITE INFORMATION AND RULES.
Children are welcome, with parent's supervisIon, looking out for their safety. Please do NOT let them climb trees, as the trees are young and branches have already been broken.
Dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a lead or rope and you pick up their faeces. We can lend you a rope if you don't have one.
Disposable BBQs Must NOT be placed on the grass, or on the picnic tables. Put them on the hearths set into the ground at each pitch.
Campfires Must be set on the brick hearths at most pitches, and at least 3 metres away from any tent or vehicle . Use the wheel or firepit provided. Let us know if you want grid racks to cook on.
We prefer to supply your logs and kindling. Do NOT help yourself or forage for wood in our woodland.
Noise This is a QUIET site, please keep noise down completely between 9.30pm and 8.00 am so as not to annoy other campers and our neighbours.
Rubbish and Recycling
We are obliged to separate our rubbish for collection by the Council. Please help us by not putting all your stuff in one bag and dumping it. There are separate bins for recycling and non-recyclates.
Tent Awnings and Groundsheets.
Please help to keep the grass healthy by folding back your loose groundsheets to give the grass light and air when you go out for a few hours. This is particularly important if you are staying for more than 2-3 nights.
Payment- site fees
We ask for your payment by cash or bank transfer within 24 hours of arrival. No refunds except in exceptional circumstances.
ON YOUR DAY OF LEAVING THE CAMPSITE
PLEASE CLEAR YOUR PITCH AND FINISH IN THE SHOWER/TOILET BLOCK BY 11.30 am, unless you have prior agreement from the campsite owners Rob and Kath Googe.
