Booked 2 days and was my 1st time camping for the other half. She was spoilt with good weather and all the luxuries from home, warm welcome on arrival and allocated a big plot. Small shop on site with fresh eggs from chickens which walk round freely. Toilets and showers kept very clean. Very quiet and peaceful site as it is adults only. Fishing lakes and river behind, and an excellent pub next door and the jeep was a bonus. Will definitely be back and recommend to others.

Chaotic and packed in like sardines.
Site's response
Hi Greame, sorry that you feel that your stay was chaotic, if you had mentioned this during your stay we would have tried to make amends, we were not aware that you were not happy. It was a very busy weekend with all pitches taken however there were two groups of 3 campers who wanted to be pitched together so it may have appeared they were very close and not in allocated pitches (this was their choice). This is our first season so it is a learning curve as well as work in progress, we appreciate all feedback. Take care and happy travels. Fiona and Paul.
On the whole a friendly, value for money site

We enjoyed our few days away at Bainside. We had a couple of issues, one, that we were near the toilets and the smell from the drains was quite bad. The other was that I know it is high season, but campervans and tents were squeezed in on any available bit of ground, so it seemed very cramped.
Site's response
We are glad that you enjoyed your stay overall. We are always about on site or just a phone call away if there are any issues, if we had been made aware of the unpleasant smell while you were staying with us we would have been able to sort it out. You did make us aware on your departure and we immediately dealt with the issue. It was a very busy weekend and this is our first season and a learning curve, we had a number of units and tents which requested to be put together therefore however this is what the guests requested. Enjoy your travels, take care Fiona and Paul.
Excellent place to relax and switch off with hosts that are more than happy to assist and make you feel very welcome!

Perfect for a quiet weekend away from the hustle and bustle. The hosts are welcoming and keen to ensure you have everything to enjoy your stay. All facilities are close by and kept clean. Although the site is smaller than others there was plenty of space between pitches, with electric and water access available very close to pitches (right next to most). The pub next to the site is closed on Sundays and the chef was also away on holiday during our stay, meaning they were not serving food but we understand this is the main holiday season and everyone deserves a break. There are plenty more pubs just a short drive away to enjoy.

Lovely site, easy to find. Nice friendly welcome from the owner. We had grass pitch with plenty of room. Nice fishing lake to walk dog around. Small shop with basics, didn't use it. The toilet shower block small but always clean. Pub right next door served good food. # Would visit again

A very pretty campsite with a lovely pub next door. The owners of the campsite went out of their way to help us when the battery died in our car!π Not only did they help fix it but drove us into town too. Can't fault the site, it's a beautiful area and the facilities are clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend it and will definitely go back again. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!!π

Not the sites fault but the pub was closed due to flooding which is about 20m away and has a great reputation. Woodhall Spa is a good hour walk away. The new owners were fantastic and we even got a dozen fresh eggs. Fishing looked great and plans for some additions are ongoing. The hampers from a local producer are planned. Some great walks from the site. A great little spot.

Hiya Scott, it was lovely to meet you both. The pub is now back open and the food is still amazing. We now have our very own chickens and hopefully some eggs soon. We hope to see you again soon. Fiona and Paul π

Stayed at this campsite at the weekend in a small tent and the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent toilet and shower facilities and after our air bed popped, they allowed us to borrow theirs for the rest of our stay. Great location for some lovely walks and close to Woodhall Spa for the Kinema in the Woods. Large lake which you can walk around too. We will certainly be returning. Thank you very much! π

We loved our stay in the beautiful Bainside House Park. Very well set out with hard standings, grass and pebbles giving access to lovely clean showers, toilets and washing up stand. Lovely views of the landscaped park and nearby lake (dogs not allowed in that part). Lots of walks within 1 mile and further to Woodhall Spa, which is well worth a visit. Fantastic meals at the next door pub, The Ebrington which we highly recommend but it's not open on Sundays.

Without transport and only a pub in the village, you're a little restricted.
Site's response
There is a connect bus to get you where you want. Maybe we'd advise some research before you arrive, if you don't want to use your own transport.

Booked 4 nights on this site with our 3 dogs as site said it was dog friendly. On arrival was greeted by Sheila, very lovely lady. Site rules do state dogs on leads, but while we were setting up, our dogs were loose beside the van. A couple opposite had a dog which was loose as well, as did a couple beside them, so didn't think it would be a problem. Mick came over and told us to put them on leads in quite an abrupt manner. Never said anything to couples opposite. Day 3 of our stay we were the only people at the end of site as couples opposite were out or had left. My partner threw a ball for one of our dogs as no-one was about and Mick appeared and abruptly again to put the dogs on leads. It was 30 degrees outside, our pitch was in the full sun and he wanted us to tie the dogs up when no-one was about for them to disturb anyway. Seems he has one rule for one and one rule for others. I understand sites have rules and we have been to many sites with our dogs but to be barked at by this man only to see other campers with their dogs not on leads I think is out of order. Unfortunately, we left 24 hours earlier then planned. If this guy had actually came and had a chat, our opinion may have been different.
Site's response
Thank you for your feedback. As you mentioned, the rules do state "no dogs off leads" while on campsite. I normally give people time to set up before imposing the rules but in your case, I approached you to introduce myself, only to find dogs barking at me and made me feel uneasy. So yes, I did ask for the dogs to be put on leads. I also mentioned that I already had a word with the others. I had a complaint from another camper, who said one of your dogs had been let off and had crossed the field to the other dog, even though I had asked for the dogs to be on leads. The day in question, I was walking past and saw a dog shoot pass across the field. Not only was I about, but there was also another couple sitting out side their tent. It only needs the dog to keep running on to them and I knew they did not like dogs. This is why the rules are in place for everyone. It would take 2 mins to walk off site to play with your dog off lead. I'm sorry if you think I was abrupt, but I had to tell you twice to put your dog on a lead when it is mentioned in the paperwork given to guests, as well as on signage on site. To respect others, I feel was not asking too much. With regards to the weather, I can not do much about that.

Great site, all facilities were excellent. The fishing lake is very nice albeit we didn't fish this time, but will do it when we come again. The pub next door had very good food and service was excellent. All in all, this a superb site, would recommend any time. Many thanks.
