A really good place to stay my daughter. We were going to Wembley (30 mins away driving, train station is quicker) so we camped here in our transporter. It was really good value, didn't use any facilities apart from the toilet as we just slept. It was quiet and we had a code to enter after closing, which was perfect. The staff were friendly and the toilets very clean, I would stay again.

Wonderful park with all the facilities you would expect, the only exception is there is no flushing toilets within easy walking distance of the campground, only porta-loos.

Definitely one of the best within the M25. Some great woodland. Better access road though. Car bottomed out on the dirt road in. Cheaper than a hotel. Bit smoky, but fairly peaceful and quiet.

Lovely campsite with two options for camping field, with trees and shade or open and sunny. The farm is a plus, especially for families with little kids. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I recommend.

Not sure how many times I've been to Aldenham, yes, it's really great to stay there. It still truly feels as if you are indeed camping wild, but then there are showers (and they are warm, which is rather nice) in wooden cabins, and there are clean toilets etc. It's as close to wild camping as one can get this close to London, I am sure. Only pity is that they are not open that much, because otherwise I'd go more. Also, note that the grounds are way larger than the camping ground itself and there is a sizable lake just adjacent, with a great walking path. Further, a bit of a tip: in their farm shop, the sausages are unlike any other you will have eaten. I literally don't know where in London I could get comparable quality (and I just bought some).
Could be better!

We had fun camping with friends this weekend but we were disappointed with the facilities on site for the price we paid. It is basically a few fields with some portacabin toilets (which were really smelly and fairly run down), 2 showers in sheds (per field) and 1 (cold water only) sink for washing up, outside too. Glamping field the same and no lights on in the toilets at night. I don't think you'd want to be visiting if the weather wasn't that good. One shower was not very powerful and the other was better but went cold when people were washing up in the nearby sink. Not ideal! There is a lovely reservoir and woods and trampolines, small animal farm (which we didn't visit) crazy golf and playground - all had to be paid for! Amazing café (owned separately and not associated with the park and camping) Rustic Rubarb run by a fabulous and welcoming couple Darren and Emma. We ate there everyday! We paid for recycling but there was no recycling points - it all went in one area and taken away by tractor. Noisy road next to the site and surrounding area. We stayed in the further field on the far side to the road and it was okay. All in all we had a nice weekend but unlikely to return for these reasons.

Thanks for visiting the park to camp recently, we appreciate you taking time to share your view and are sorry to hear you didn't rate our campsite as value for money. We do offer wild camping, we try to put across fairly what we offer in terms of temporary field facilities in terms of showers and toilets and respect these might no be deemed satisfactory amongst some visitors. By nature these can smell especially in the hotter periods however we do conduct a regular cleaning regime. The additional, you mention across the park are offered as separate chargeable activities and clearly not presented as part of the camping booking. Clearly we missed the mark meeting your expectation and take this squarely on the chin.

We stayed in our campervan in the School Field on a Saturday night in June. Liked: - Spacious site - Loved seeing the lambs and calves - The walk around the reservoir is nice - Highly recommend the Rustic Rhubarb Café Suggestions: - Hand washing facilities at the toilets in the camping field - A clearly signposted recycling area, especially as the price includes a compulsory "recycling contribution" (we gave up searching and took our recycling home with us)

We booked a last minute camping trip here for a festival. It was a 25 minute taxi to Hatfield Park. The showers and toilets were basic and the guy at check in couldn't recommend a local pub for some grub, but we found a nice pub just 500 meters away called Battle Axes. Good food and welcoming staff.

We stayed here in April as we were in the area for personal reasons and needed somewhere to sleep. We were the only people staying so had it to ourselves. The field was big and even though the shower was in a hut, it was clean and the water was warm (not hot). The toilets were portaloos, but clean. I would say however that if it was a busy time of year, the facilities would probably not cope, so we were lucky. The only downside for us was that the grass was not cut and there was hidden dung which meant we were constantly taking off shoes. Also the area around the shower/toilet area was a little muddy and rutted. A few paving stones and a little TLC with the field would have made it a 5* review.

Beautiful views and very peaceful, but the grass in the camping field was in desperate need of cutting.
