About Morndyke Shepherds' Huts

Providing a top of the range glamping experience, where unadulterated luxury is considered normal, the huts at Morndyke are stunning. The non smoking site prides itself on being wildlife friendly, with bird and bat boxes dotted around the well established fishing lake. A pretty wild flower garden sits alongside the apple trees and bespoke bird feeding station, while each hut has its own mini herb garden and strawberry planter for guests to enjoy. The site is also home to the second largest parrot sanctuary in the UK, experiences can be booked with the site directly. Inside, the huts are fully equipped with a luxurious double bed and single bunk above, as well as a log burning stove, mini kitchen and comfy, sheepskin-lined chair. A host of extra luxury items provide the finishing touches, including Bronte by Moon blankets and cushions, Emma Bridgewater mugs, and Duck Island bathroom products. No need to share with others, here you have your own ensuite shower room and toilet. The mini kitchen is kitted out with all the cutlery, crockery, utensils and cooking gear you could possibly need. All linen and towels are provided. Even your dog is catered for - after all, it's their holiday too. The huts are ideal for couples wanting to enjoy a quiet and romantic break away, but the single bunk means that friends can enjoy time away together too. Either way, it's a place to relax and enjoy some downtime, with a selection of books, films and games for any rainy days. Outside you'll find your own private patio with barbecue, fire pit and table, where you can enjoy views stretching for miles over the farmland to the Hambleton Hills. Buzzards soar above you and the occasional roe deer can be seen shyly grazing while you sip on a glass of wine, watch the sun set and barbecue your dinner. Morndyke is a child-free site, but dogs (or other pets within reason!) are more than welcome.

Morndyke Shepherds' Huts is open all year round.

A note from the site themselves...

Welcome to our lovely little site, we will be your hosts, Tricia and Alan. The site has been passed through the family for generations, having originally produced bricks, hence our farm name.

Under the fishing lake was where the clay once lay that went on to make said bricks. Due to the history of the place, old bottles and historic pieces are often still found when the land is tilled. Alan actually raised the ancient kilns to the ground some in the 1990's when he inherited the farm, in order to construct the cattle buildings.

One of the best shepherds huts I've ever stayed in. The decor is absolutely beautiful, I especially loved the sheep stain glass window. The bed was super comfy and the shower lovely and hot. We had everything we needed for a cosy weekend away.

Absolute little gem

Shepherd's Hut - Shepherds' HutsFeb 2024

What a lovely little find...perfect for couples and fun for the little ones. Everything you need is inside the hut, and there's more on site. Clean, tidy and cosy. Beautiful fishing lake on site. It was lovely to just sit and watch the guys fishing. Highly recommend and will most definitely be coming back in the warmer months. Lots to do in nearby Thirsk & Northallerton, and lovely restaurants and pubs close by too.
