It's a fantastic little campsite that ticks all the boxes in a beautiful part of the country, in easy reach of Scarborough and Whitby. It's not an easy site for anyone with mobility issues but as long as you know that, you can avoid. It's also not a good campsite if you hope to pitch tents as a group as the pitches are separated and choice of pitch is limited, based on availability. We would definitely recommend and stay again though and the showers we nice and hot but with on / off only, you can't chose the temperature. The only things that let it down are super easy quick fixes. Some solar lighting in the toilets, showers and sink area would be amazing. Juggling a torch and trying to use the loo is tricky. The toilet doors are a nightmare on springs, the toilets in the campervan area are much easier to use as they don't spring back on you whilst you're trying to step in and out. Finally, a small bin or waste bag in the toilets is a must for sanitary towels and toilet roll tubes. Are you supposed to find your way to the bins in the dark, in the middle of the night, to dispose of used products? It's only a matter of time before the toilets get blocked from people trying to flush pads due to lack of bins!

Prospect House Park is well located in North Yorkshire. It was easy to travel to many coastal locations during my stay. The site has great eco-credentials and the pitch areas well maintained. A horsebox had been repurposed as two toilets and shower, and there were additional toilets and showers/washing up facilities on the camping field. The site is peaceful and a great place for an escape.

Great little quiet campsite. Everything seems new and clean and well maintained. Can't park next to your tent, but actually quite liked that. Meant even more peaceful and relaxing stay. Lovely touch is the nicely mowed pitches in the long wild grass. Would recommend it.

Superb location away from society, with beautiful views. The sounds of owls on a night time was great to hear. Shower and toilet facilities were great, both within a converted horse box. Great hosts on site and only a call away, thanks again.
Site's response
Thanks Sarah. A lovely review and thanks for booking.

Booked last minute the day before our trip, because a different campsite in the area cancelled on us. Joe (owner) was so accommodating, especially since I had to give him a ring because I picked the wrong accommodation type (we have a car awning so needed to be on the campervan site instead of tent). He said the change was no problem and only £3 extra per night for the change, which is amazing seeing as other sites can charge a fortune for campervan sites. We had the whole field to ourselves for two nights, but even if there were others, there are mowed out areas to park in so you can have a buffer between campers (great idea for the socially awkward!) The views of the hills are amazing and it's like your own secluded paradise. The facilities are great, there's two toilets and one shower, which shared between the 8ish plots is perfectly fine. It's all inside a converted butty van trailer that's got a beautiful rain head shower and new fitted toilets. All of this is on farm land, which is just a 15min car ride away from Scarborough Bay and 30mins from Whitby Bay (also they have horses and kittens on the farm, which is always a nice way to start a day of adventure). All in all, this trip reignited the childhood love of camping we were searching for, thanks for a great stay and we'll defo be coming back!! Friendly and beautiful, cannot fault at all!

Very much enjoyed, a nice, quiet, peaceful site apart from one family who arrived on Saturday night and let their kids shout and scream till gone 11. However we would recommend this site if you like to have a traditional place to stay with no clubhouse or bar. We will be back.
Site's response
Thanks Greg.

This was my sons first taste of camping and he was completely won over and has already asked me to book again. Surrounded by nature, this really was a relaxing stay with everything we needed. Enjoyed a daily drive to go on adventures, the farm was the perfect place for us to wind down in the evening.
Site's response
Glad you and your son enjoyed your stay, Carrie. Wonderful to meet you all. Hope to see you again soon.

Lovely stay at this great campsite. Views were stunning, good location, showers excellent, we got help bringing our things from car to the pitch, it was clean, nice service and we loved the washing machine drum fires! Thanks for a great few days.

Such amazing stay in a stunning location. We were lucky enough to have the site to ourselves for the first two nights, which was a much needed, quiet break away from normal life. Would highly recommend this campsite if you want a relaxing break, and the hot showers were the best we've had at a campsite.

Thanks for the review, so glad you enjoyed it, hope to see you again one day.

Small and quiet with just enough facilities to make life easier, toilets, covered sink and washing up area with a fridge. Two pubs within a 20 minute walk and very secluded feeling without actually being far from everything. My only criticism is the mown out pitches still have the grass clippings on them and aren't raked. This sounds nitpicky, but I came with a low lightweight stove and kept setting fire to the loose clippings and they got everywhere. Otherwise a lovely site.
Site's response
Thanks for your review glad you enjoyed it. Guess I need to get the rake out. All the best.

Ideal if you are after a nice relaxing & peaceful atmosphere.Very well-spaced out camping pitches that have a tranquil meadow feel. The site is kept clean & tidy (shower, toilets & washing area.), there is also a fridge freezer for your use. The campsite is all within close proximity to Scarborough, the Cleveland way & Robin hoods bay, by either walking or a short drive away. Would recommend & certainly would stay again, whenever we are next back within the area.
Site's response
Thanks for the feedback Richard, was great to have you stay. And look forward to you coming back one day. All the best.

A real treasure. Tucked away in beautiful countryside but only 5 minutes to Scalby village and 15 minutes into Scarborough. It's quiet and peaceful; perfect for those that don't like big, busy campsites.

The campsite is a large field with pitches marked and spread out with plenty of space between them. It's a really quiet location but well connected enough to be a base to spend days in Scarborough, Whitby and further afield. The facilities are good, new and clean. We stayed for 3 nights with a 5 year old and had a good time.
Site's response
Thanks for your feedback James, appreciate you taking the time to do so. All the best.

We had a beautiful stay on Prospect Farm. The facilities are more than you could hope for, exceptionally clean, kitted out with hand soap and hot water. It's a quiet site with lots of wildlife and a brilliant view of the stars on a clear night. Easy to find and Joe was really helpful. I would love to return.
