Pitch up and enjoy a pint at Woodbridge Inn, a cosy pub located by the River Avon, just 20 minutes from Stonehenge. There are both family friendly and adult only grass pitches for tents and tourers, along with a selection of electric hardstanding pitches too. Enjoy glorious walks in the North Wessex Downs before returning for an evening in the pub garden, with a play park to keep the little ones busy. Dogs are also welcome!

We stayed here in our motorhome for 2 nights. we wanted somewhere where we could chill and do absolutely nothing! The site itself had the normal. Toilets, showers, drinking water etc. On arrival, there was a sign to say phone before entering. We did this and was told where to pitch. I found the customer service not that great to be honest. There was no physical interaction, just on the phone to tell us where to pitch. It would have been nice to have someone physically there to show us the amenities etc. Saying that, we did have a peaceful stay and had a lovely walk with our dog looking at the river that flows next to the site.

I hate to say this because I have ready reviews saying this pub and site have been recently taken over, but there is a lot still to do on the campsite and the pub. Starting with the campsite, the hardstanding pitches are in a poor state, with food and rubbish around them and gravel and grass not looked after. The toilet and shower block although reasonably clean in the men's, there is only one toilet cubicle and one shower cubicle, apparently the same in the ladies. This is lacking considering how many people are using this site. Next, the pub, the Landlord and Lady are very charming and quirky but the beer didn't taste well cared for and the food wasn't great either. My son had burger and chips which I must give credit for, looked very good and apparently tasted nice, but I made the bad choice of fish and chips. I believe the description says something like cod in crispy batter, I know I was told that they didn't have the normal large fish and that I would have 2 smaller pieces, but what I didn't expect was 2 soggy cooked from frozen pieces that Iceland wouldn't have put their name to. The only saving grace were the desserts which were very nice.
Site's response
Thank you for your review, and we are sorry that you were disappointed. To address some of your points: We took over this site which had been closed for some time early this year and after extensive repairs and refurbishment, reopened the pub in May and the campsite in June. We know there is still work to be done, but it was commercially vital to get both pub and campsite operational in order for the business to survive. To compensate for the less than perfect state, we opted to charge the rates from 2021 under previous owners, even though costs have gone up dramatically since then. We check the site several times each day but not all campers are as fastidious as you probably are, and leave litter, food etc. around their pitches. We clean up when we see that. The site is deliberately kept a little wild and will never be "manicured", but we do not consider it suitable for that. In terms of the showers, there are 2 each in the gents' and ladies', and this has been the case since 2018. The site was then, and still is, licensed for 16 hardstands and 30 tent pitches but we have reduced that to 10 hardstands and 24 pitches, 12 fewer than our permitted maximum, to try to reduce the load on the facilities. Once again, we are sorry you did not enjoy your meal in the pub, had you made your complaint at the time, we would have certainly managed the situation there and then, but please appreciate some time has now passed and we were unaware that you were not satisfied with our food, which again, we keep basic and at a good price. At least our desserts offered some saving grace.
Shame I didn't read the small print

Shame I didn't read the small print. The pub shuts on a Sunday at 18:00. Very disappointing. Showers are very clean, toilet not so much. Always had toilet roll and has a handy socket point.
Excellent

The site is clean and well maintained with really good facilities. Also, it's conveniently located next to the pub.

We camp here every year with my Grandson and fish at Manningford. Basic facilities but everything we need. The new owners are working hard and it shows, they have done a great job on the pub and the staff are very welcoming. We enjoyed our stay.

This site may suit some travellers. Not really my cup of tea. Hardstandings aren't particularly level and were weedy. When I arrived, I was apparently the last expected booking that day, but still seemed a problem to locate my booking, Had to wait for a splitter to be added to hook-up point. An assortment of campervans/motorhomes, tents, off-grid vehicles etc. Some road noise and nocturnal MOD aircraft activity. Basic. Not really for children/families.
Potential to be good again!

Felt the site lacks TLC! Just been taken over by new landlord. Google aerial pics show how the site used to be! Not like that now. We had young child with us and found it unsuitable for her. Fast running stream to one side of site. Hard standing area next to road so it was noisy. Has potential to be a good site with a little effort and investment. Good location prior to visiting Stonehenge.

Absolutely great site, booked very last minute and the site owner was super accommodating, gave lots of recommendations of where to go nearby. Decent facilities and the site itself was beautiful, real treat to camp next to the river. Great pub as well. The only issue I had was that it was quite noisy, next to a fairly busy road (for the countryside at least) and lots of aircraft overnight related to the military base nearby. Obviously nothing the owner can do about that, and it didn't detract from my stay at all, but something to bear in mind if you're after somewhere peaceful.

This park was still undergoing construction but the staff were very welcoming, the bar snacks were 10 out of 10. Very peaceful. My only concern was that they could had been a little more on top of the cleaning. Even after saying that, I will definitely return, I'm sure when the work is complete, this will be a little gem.

What an exceptional location with the river, the seating and the picnic tables. I can't believe this hidden gem, great helpful and friendly staff with great food on offer...
Good winter pitch is passing through the area.

Excellent gravelled camper van pitches, especially for autumn weather, if a little close together. Good showers. The other facilities in the wash block were fine though the building was a little tired. You need a head torch if washing up after dark. Nice people to deal with.

A rural but beautiful area. We stayed in our Motorhome on a well planed site by the river and near to the lake. Toilets and showers clean and a lovely quaint pub in the grounds. The service was good and very friendly staff. We didn't eat there but the menus looked lovely. Very peaceful and a short walk led us to a huge stunning lake with beautiful swans. We plan to go back there soon.
