About Fron Farm Yurt Retreat
Fron Farm Yurt Retreat is situated on a 56-acre organic sheep farm nestled in a secluded valley, near the majestic Preseli Mountains. It is so utterly idyllic at the yurt retreat, even the red kites and buzzards that circle overhead swoop down for a closer inspection. A homemade, family run glamping site, the aim is to give guests a haven to escape the business of everyday life. The chance to rediscover well-being and to experience adventure whilst enjoying a comfortable and luxurious break. The farm has extensive pastureland and landscaped gardens in which to enjoy an evening stroll, or a game of hide and seek, and guests are welcome to enjoy the fields and woodlands. On a warm summer evening, there's nothing quite like reclining outside, basking in the glow of the fire pit, and admiring the patchwork of twinkling stars this unspoilt part of the world affords. Everything about the yurt retreat is handmade here on the farm by Guy Cutler, using locally sourced wood. Each structure has been lovingly handcrafted to provide you with a beautiful space to enjoy during your stay here. Buzzard Yurt Boncath and Kite Yurt Barcud are sited in a landscaped flower meadow next to the pond and looking down the wooded valley. The site has a shared fire-pit which glampers can sit around to chat, star gaze, melt marshmallows and generally soak up the tranquillity of the setting.

Things to do on site and in the Whitland area
Fron Farm was once a grange farm for nearby Whitland Abbey, and nestles in a south facing valley with views over to the Preseli Mountains. The farm nowadays has sheep, goats and chickens and a large organic vegetable garden and landscaped area. By arrangement you and your children can watch the goats being milked and help collect the eggs.
You are welcome to enjoy the retreat's pasture land and woodlands, much of which has been planted up by the current family. There is even a public footpath which eventually brings you to the local pub in Llanlgydwen. The extensive gardens are great for enjoying an evening stroll, or a game of hide and seek and childen are welcome to play on the pirate ship play area which is located near to the yurt field.
The retreat is well located to make the most of visiting all three counties of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. You can access the coast in every direction within a 25 minute drive, making Fron Farm an ideal base from which to explore the whole of West Wales.
Carmarthen, Haverfordwest and Cardigan towns are also within 30 minutes and Narberth, with its interesting boutique shops and lively arts scene, only 20 minutes. There are extensive walks and fabulous views from the Preseli Mountains just 10 minutes away.
Laugharne, home of Dylan Thomas, and Llanstephan, with their fabulously situated castles, are both within easy reach and Amroth - southern start of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path - is the nearest swimming beach.
Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm and Bluestone's Blue Water pool are close by and provide many activities for children of all ages.
There is a local two hour walk from the farm through fields, some roads and woodlands to Gwal Y Filiast Cromlech, located 6km south east of Crymych in Carmarthenshire. Your destination is on a steep wooded ridge overlooking the River Taf. The large capstone (pointing towards the river to the west) is supported by four uprights.
