Night Pastures offers pitches without crowds, on an off grid site, where you can enjoy a wonderful wild camping experience in the South Downs. You can bring your own tent or book the complete 'bivvy' camp option. For glampers, there's an enticing set of yurts to sleep four or six, each with private bathroom and cooking facilities as well as some beautifully furnished bell tents.

About Night Pastures

The site offers sustainable holidays that honor nature in one of the most beautiful areas of the South Downs National Park, surrounded by 3,000 acres in which you'll find both well kitted out glamping yurts, bell tents and tempting camping pitches on acres of grass. Camping is wonderfully relaxed - the wide open spaces bring you closer to nature so you can enjoy stargazing, lying in the sun or just listening to the birds. Pitches are separated into adult and family camping areas, located in separate spots so everyone can feel relaxed and secluded. Campers also enjoy their own communal camp kitchens with gas hob and washing up sink provided along with large, covered dining tents which provide shelter from the rain. Campfires are a must when camping, and there are several large fire pits available for anyone to use. Individual fire bowls are available to rent if you would like a more intimate fire experience. Badger Camp is a self contained camp at the far end of the field and is available for up to 30 guests to book for exclusive use camping over a minimum of two nights. Badger has its own loos, showers, fire pit, camp kitchen and dining tent so its perfect for groups of families to get together. Fox Camp is the twin of Badger with its own compost loos, showers, mess tent, field kitchen and stone fire pit. Fox is the largest camp, designed especially for families with lots of space for children to run around in. The site's bell tents come furnished with four single beds, comfy mattresses, snugly duvets and linens, fairy lights, cooking equipment, table and rug. Bell tents also come with their own fire baskets and share a bathroom trailer so all you need to bring is towels. The yurts are handcrafted from local materials and include windows to let in plenty of light. Inside there is a generous double bed and either two or four singles. The floor is strewn with soft rugs and the interior is carefully decorated to help ensure you feel at home. All linen supplied and there's a toasty stove and insulation to ensure you're never chilly. Each yurt has a private bathroom with lovely hot showers. Outside, you'll find a field kitchen with a gas cooker, BBQ, water supply and seating. The larger Redwood yurt can sleep eight on low level single beds which can be linked together to make doubles and has been designed with large families and organised groups in mind. It shares its kitchen and bathroom facilities but contains all the equipment you need to cook with (plates, cups, pans, cutlery etc) and all bedding is provided so all you need to bring is towels. Inside it is covered in rugs, has a dining table and eight chairs and a large wood burner. The ceiling is covered in fairy lights which are truly magical at night. Outside, guests can enjoy a large deck area with outdoor seating, a personal BBQ and a fire bowl. Organised groups of up to eight can be accommodated in Redwood by prior arrangement. Night Pastures is all about traditional, old fashioned fun in the countryside, enjoying nature and escaping all the trappings of the modern world. Around 80% of guests come back year on year!

Open from 1 April to 31 October
