The Pods at Airhouses

The Pods at Airhouses are set in acres of farmland with lovely views across open fields, just 40 minutes from Edinburgh and the coast. The luxury, adult only pods come with mood lighting, underfloor heating, Smart TVs and ensuite bathrooms. For evenings in the open, they also have outdoor decking areas and private hot tubs. The Rowan Pod features a cosy BBQ hut and the Hawthorn Pod has its own little fire pit area and outside BBQ too!

About The Pods at Airhouses

Set at 1,000 feet, this scenic site enjoys panoramic views of the Lammermuir Hills and is all about peace and quiet. However, it is also conveniently just a 40 minute drive from Edinburgh but seems millions of miles away! Each of the modern, unique pods sleeps up to two adults with a cosy double bed made up for your arrival. Suitable for stays all year round, each also features underfloor heating and an infrared wall heater, with Hawthorn even having air conditioning. You will also have all of the mod-cons including WiFi, a Smart TV by the bed, mood lighting, a sound system and even a tablet to control the lighting, blinds and heating! The pods both have an ensuite with a loo, small washbasin, a heated towel rail just outside and an electric shower. Hand and bath towels, robes, slippers, a hairdryer, toiletries and towels for the hot tub are all provided so you can travel light! For all of your cooking needs, each pod has its own kitchen area. The Rowan Pod has a galley-style kitchen with a small sink, fridge, kettle and toaster. Outside is the BBQ hut and an additional fridge with a small freezer section and a microwave. The Hawthorn Pod has a microwave oven, two induction hobs and a little sink. Pans, a kettle, toaster and a fridge are provided, with an extra fridge with a small freezer box in a hut outside. To make the most of the glorious views, the pods includ a private heated hot tub outside as well as an EV charging point. The Hawthorn Pod also has a charcoal BBQ outside, along with a small fire pit area. There is a communal hut with a washing machine, available April to October, and room for drying wet coats and boots, book and games, sun loungers and parasols. Enjoy the surrounding farmland with all its wildlife. Spot badgers, owls, deer, squirrels, hawks, kestrels, and an abundance of wild birds. Enjoy the safe farm walks, attempt the treasure trail which takes you on a circular route through the village of Oxton, use the jogging trails, and meet the pigs, goats, Shetland ponies, sheep, donkeys and pygmy goats too. For a tasty dinner onsite, you can also enjoy ready meals from the wee onsite farm shop. To truly unwind, you can even have your own personalised spa treatment! Dogs can join you for your stay too, with up to one allowed per pod. A pet water bowl, food bowl and a dog towel will also be supplied for your stay so they are fully catered for.

Facilities and amenities

Each pod has an ensuite with loo, small washbasin, a heated towel rail and an electric shower. Each also has a private heated hot tub outside as well as an EV charging point. The Hawthorn Pod has a charcoal BBQ outside.

There is also a communal hut with a washing machine, available April to October, with room for drying wet coats and boots, books and games, sun loungers and parasols.

There are electric bikes to hire by arrangement, as well as bookable extras like BBQ packs and spa treatments. There is a small farm shop that stocks essentials, frozen ready meals, locally made ice cream, and craft beers and wines can be ordered in advance or when on site.

On Saturday mornings there is a pop up cafe, which serves the delicious Three Hills coffee, hot chocolate, milkshakes and various other treats.

There is a small shop in Oxton, just under a ten minute drive away. For a wider selection, there are more shops in Lauder, which is a 15 minute drive away. The nearest pub for a meal out is The Carfraemill Hotel, which is under a ten minute drive away.
