Lantern & Larks Exton Park is located on the 500 hectare Exton Estate in the heart of picturesque Rutland - the smallest historic county in England. The glamping site is housed in a sheltered five-acre walled garden which gradually slopes down to an ornamental lake at the southern end - where ospreys have been known to catch their dinner!
About Lantern & Larks Exton Park
Located in the beautiful 18th century, Grade II listed, Exton Park, the three bedroom, canvas-wrapped safari tents each sleep six people in complete comfort. Each tent has a spacious interior, with solid decking floor extending from the terrace at the front to the practical porch entrance at the rear. An open plan living area offers plenty of space, while a wood-burning stove is there to keep you cosy, whatever the season. A large pine table in the dining area seats six with ease, while the kitchen has a gas hob for making tea, simple meals and speedy stir-fries. Both the wood burning stove and fire pit outside are perfect for simmering a one-pot casserole. The three separate and roomy bedrooms - one double, one twin, and a fun bunk room for the children - all have solid pine beds, with comfortable mattresses and plush duvet sets. And there's ample storage too. Each tent has a private shower and WC, running off an independent hot water supply. Sleep tight!

Things to do on site and in the Exton area
Exton Estate is just a few miles from the incredible wetland habitat of Rutland Water and benefits from all that the nature reserve has to offer.
The visitor centres are a good place to start your visit. The Anglian Water Bird Watching Centre in Egleton has great facilities and a good selection of information on the wildlife and history, or there is the Lyndon Visitor Centre located on the south shore. Birdwatching hides are positioned around the banks of the reserve, so you're always likely to see something good, while footpaths and cycle routes skirt the shores enabling you to really explore.
The reservoir is divided into different sections, with the reserve located in the west, while different leisure activities take place in the remaining areas. Sailing and windsurfing are popular toward the east of the reservoir while fishing happens more centrally.
