A beautiful orchard with friendly and helpful owners. Amazing dark skies for viewing the stars and really well kitted out kitchen and living areas. Easy access to beautiful walks and shores.

We had an amazing time at this campsite! Simon, the host, gave us a warm welcome and even took the time to give us a tour of the site. The campsite itself is beautiful and spacious, with well-designed communal areas. You can tell a lot of thought has been put in to the little touches to enhance your camping experience, for example, an undercover kitchen area stocked with pots pan etc. We thought the shelves which people could leave bits for the next campers was a fantastic idea and very handy! Simon was always available with a smile to answer any questions we had or provide us with tips about the local area. I highly recommend this campsite and I'm already looking forward to coming back in the future.

We stayed (1 adult, 2 young children) for 5 nights and had great time. The site is exactly as described, no unpleasant surprises. The nature aspect is brilliant and exactly what I'd been looking for. Simon and Emily are also lovely, welcoming hosts. There are lots of handy communal kitchen facilities, so although we took things with us, we needn't have bothered. The site is very peaceful with a great vibe. We were fortunate to have majority fine weather so were outside all the time, enjoying the meadow views and orchard scenery. The children loved feeding the chickens which are roaming freely around. We visited several things in the surrounding area which were outdoors and free (hills, walks and beaches) and were accessible via car. We also used the adjacent stables for some fun horse rides which were fairly priced. I'm not an experienced camper (with the children) but was made to feel at home and Simon helped me when I was struggling with the tent at first, which was kind. I would recommend this site to anyone with kids and who likes the outdoors. The pitches are massive and was a key selling point for me; you have loads of space and it's not too busy. Dorset was a long drive from Essex but it was totally worth it and the children loved it too.

Thank you Mathew for your kind words. It means a lot to us that visitors to Old Bidlake have a positive experience and want to come back. Having just the 8 pitches and so much space really does help with making this a magical place to come.

We had a great time at Old Bidlake Farm. The field and meadow are peaceful and very well laid out, offering privacy and your own 'patch' with picnic bench. There are good shared kitchen facilities and lounge area perfect for rainy days. Simon and Emily are the perfect hosts, super friendly and available when needed. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
