After tiny, and very fortunate for us, mix up we enjoyed a fabulous couple of nights in 'Big Bertha' with our son's little family nearby in a tent. The site has everything you could need, Bertha is very well appointed. There was nothing we needed which wasn't there. Fire pit and picnic bench included was a super touch and very welcome. After our little trip into the Lakes, the remoteness of the site was a blessing and a huge relief after the crowds and cars in the towns around Ullswater! Thank you all for a truly wonderful stay and we will definitely be back! Emma and family.

This is in a beautiful location with large plots spaced out to give adequate privacy for everyone. Many of the plots are set in an idyllic riverside location, perfect for paddling in. It was fantastic that my autistic son could actually get to relax here due to the "no dogs policy" that is actually enforced. A rare thing to find these days!
Always amazing!

Our happy place! We love to come here everything is always spot on. The facilities, the food you can buy. We just ask for it when we book and it's always ready and waiting. The staff Tom, Jimmy and Fiona always make sure you're happy and comfortable, nothing is too much trouble. The pitches are great, so spacious. The beck running through is wonderful. It's so peaceful, beautiful and quiet. We can't wait to come back ☺️

We really enjoyed our Bank Holiday weekend here. Our pitch was next to the river, which was lovely. Owners were very friendly and always on hand to help, if needed. Power showers were great in the cow shed. Bit of a hill climb to the flushing toilets in the cow shed but there are composting toilets near the pitches, along with showers too. Views were amazing from the top of the hill and my son enjoyed fishing by the Carp lake.
Nice weekend break

Good pitches. Lovely quiet location. Well located for range of family activities in Cumbria. Mix of compost toilets and normal facilities in the barn (up a bit of a hill). All clean and well maintained. Good showers available in the barn. Friendly host. Really enjoyed camping by the stream and hearing the running water from the tent.
Had a great time

Pleasantly surprised by the campsite and its facilities. The site itself is very clean and in a nice location. There are outdoor and indoor washing facilities and the barn has a host of games and a handy kitchen. Fiona the owner is lovely and ensured we had everything we needed to spend an enjoyable weekend camping.
Big thumbs up!

Campsite is very peaceful/private with good space between pitches - don't think there is a bad pitch. River and pond both gorgeous. The 'cowshed' is huge and functional but lacks "je ne sais quoi". Hosts may still be developing this area. Showers/toilet facilities great - 100%. However, the communal kitchen could be more inviting. Fridge too small and old to support number of pitches. Maybe I missed the main fridge/freezer (the space is vast). Would defo stay again.

Excellent "off grid site" owners so helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Brilliant quiet site. Only negative is the showers and flushing loo are up a quite steep hill on the farm. (Compost toilets on site). Excellent vending machine and honesty shop in barn with fresh goods.
Great campsite

We absolutely loved staying at High Hall, and are keeping it on our list for when we are back in the area. We spent the day in the Lake District and stayed here on the way back. Beautiful river next to our camp. Wonderful facilities. Everything was tucked away in a scenic valley. Thank you so much!

Great little spot - perfect off-grid camping for us. Only gripe were the showers. Lukewarm in the evening and the tray was not the cleanest, which is fine if there is a mop so we can disinfect the tray, but I couldn't see anything close to hand. Perfect spot though, really friendly owners and will be back for sure.

We had the best time staying in the pod. It had everything we needed and more and was so cozy, comfy and homely. The views on the site were stunning and the produce at the honesty shop was so fresh and good value for money, we especially recommend the milk and eggs. So many facilities (kettle, microwave and fridge in the pod as well as cutlery and crockery), plenty of firewood for the burner and both flushing toilets and compost ones as well as lovely clean showers. The site is well thought out with plenty of your own space between pitches and it was so peaceful. It’s a great location for seeing and doing things around the Lakes. We couldn’t recommend it enough and will definitely be back!
