About Polgreen Camping
This relaxed bell tent campsite is set in a secluded valley meadow with plenty of space to enjoy nature and for the kids to play. The pretty inland village is a 10-15 minute walk down a country lane and there are a choice of wonderful beaches from within a few minutes' drive or 25-30 minute stroll. There are three large six-metre bell tents, each a canvas palace for a couple or a cosy retreat for up to a family of five (two adults per bell tent). Each bell tent has a double with a real mattress and double futon sofabed, cosy rugs and tea light chandeliers. Additional mattress rolls/airbeds are available for an extra child guest where required. You can bring your own bedding or book a bedding package. Please note, the site does not supply travel cots. You'll also have your own canopied dining shelter with a table and chairs and a cooking station with a double gas stove top (with gas provided). Each bell tent also has its own water carrier, small cool box, kitchenalia, crockery and cutlery. A complete kit list will be supplied a few weeks before your stay. For full site bookings, a larger central dining shelter and BBQ can be provided by arrangement. Shared facilities are nearby and there is a dedicated compost lav for each bell tent. Eco toiletries and housekeeping supplies are provided. The site itself is a wonderful spot to make memories. From popping the whistle kettle on for a morning cuppa to the sounds of birds to watching the kids discover grasshoppers while you get your camping feast prepped, to ending the day stargazing around a campfire with a hot chocolate or wine. Over the years, this site has been featured in many things, including The Guardian's top ten family sites. You are welcome to bring your own BBQ. The site provides bricks/slates to put it on.

Things to do on site and in the St Mawgan area
The nearest beach, (Sunday Times' award-winning) Mawgan Porth, is a 25-30 minute walk away (or a few minutes in the car), along tracks and lanes. Beyond this, further beaches stretch along the whole coast which can be reached via road or the coastal path (the perfect place for some dolphin spotting).
Watergate Bay, a huge expanse of sand, is just to the south and the mythical Bedruthan Steps and National Trust land is to the north.
From rock pooling and cave exploring to surfing (hire and tuition locally available), there are plenty of beach activities to keep you entertained and a little bit of exploration may reveal your own secret bay.
If you're looking to try your hand at watersports, then the Cornish Wave (20 minutes) is the place to go. With surfing and coasteering lessons suitable for every member of the family, it is a great opportunity to try something new or brush up on your skills. You can even head out for a sunset surf lesson, the perfect way to finish off a day in true Cornish style.
The surrounding area provides great walks from laidback strolls to day-long adventures, pack a picnic and enjoy. If you are feeling a bit more intrepid why not hire some bikes or take a boat trip to savour the sights or catch your own supper.
The nearest village, St Mawgan, is just a 15 minute stroll away. A previous winner of Cornwall's best kept village and with its pretty church, traditional pub, village stores and tea room, it's not hard to see why.
For rainy days the biomes of the world-renowned Eden Project are just half an hour away. Head to Newquay Aquarium for a close up view of some sea life or a bit further afield to the Tate at St Ives with its ever changing exhibition programme.
The owners provide all guests with their own visitor guide on booking confirmation which includes suggestions of things to do, places to see and where to eat along with some great local knowledge.
