About Rocombe Valley Retreat
Escape to the picturesque Devon countryside in style. Located in a scenic valley, this small glamping site offers the perfect opportunity to switch off in style, whilst being within a 15 minute drive of beautiful beaches and plenty of attractions. Ideal for couples, the charming shepherd's hut welcomes up to two guests, kitted out with a double bed and bedding. You will also have electric so you don't have to go fully off-grid, along with lighting and candles. For those travelling as a group or family, the three off-grid yurts can accommodate four or five guests. Each comes with a double bed with bedding and additional futon beds, though bedding is required for these. Candle powered lighting is also included for creating that cosy feel at night. If coming with a group of six or fewer, the handbuilt safari tent offers a spacious option. Situated on a decked veranda, the off-grid tent comes with a lounge area with a double fold-out bed, a king size bedroom and a twin room with all bedding supplied. All of the glamping units feature a wood burner with a supply of logs for keeping toasty. For your cooking needs, you will also have a gas stove with pots and pans, along with access to the communal kitchen with individual fridges, a cooker and a pizza oven. Shared loos and showers will also be found near your accommodation. For evenings in the open, everyone has the option of a wood-fired hot tub with their accommodation, the perfect place to unwind. You will also be supplied with outdoor seating for enjoying al fresco dining. Please note, the site is dog free.
The shepherds hut is open from January to November, while the yurts are available from April to November.

Being so close to the coast, a day at the beach is a must. Maidencombe Beach is ten minutes away, featuring a mini waterfall and set in a small bay, it is the perfect spot for enjoying a swim and sunbathing.
The two onsite ponds are also perfect for anyone looking to fish. Containing carp, Gudgeon, Rudd, Trench and more, the site is perfect for those wanting to spend their day waiting for a big catch!
Torquay is also only 15 minutes away, full of attractions to enjoy. Watch the boats from the harbour, have a game at Jungle Journey Adventure Golf or head down to the beach and pick up some fish and chips.
