Things to do on site and in the Yarmouth area
It's likely that everything you and your group would like to do or need can be found within a 3 mile stretch of site - so there's no need to travel far!
If it's beaches that are on your radar, Freshwater Bay is probably the most picturesque beach in West Wight. It is a popular stopping off point for those who like to walk the cliffs to Tennyson's Monument and the stunning coastline rambles along to unspoilt, rugged sandy beaches.
Another one, Compton Bay is a well-kept secret being two miles of contrasting golden and dark sands. Cowell Bay is a stunning beach offering spectacular views back across the Solent, too, so you never have to go where the other tourists are headed. The infamous restaurant The Hut is located here.
Walking is a big part of what makes the isle so special and you're fabulously placed for cycle/walking routes into Yarmouth - or even just strolling to the nearby pub for a tipple.
Whether you come for the isle's unmissable music, food and literary festivals or just for the stunning countryside and beaches, you'll find what you need here. Being an Island, there is a host of quality independent shops that you can browse, plus some really unique theme parks for the kids that suit both indoor and outdoor activities.
