Stowford Manor Farm is a small family-run campsite located on the border of Somerset and Wiltshire, just five minutes from Bradford-on-Avon. Set against the backdrop of a stunning 13th-century farmhouse, complete with a mill and various workshops, the site provides grass pitches for tents and tourers. Enjoy delicious cream teas while watching hens peck around the millpond before taking a paddle in the stream.

Just returned from 3 days camping at Stowford Manor. Fabulous and somewhat quirky facilities which added to the overall experience on the farm. Beautifully hot water in both showers and washing up area. We ordered both the BBQ box and the breakfast meat boxes. All Stowford Farm reared meat, eggs from the neighbouring farm. Great value at £8 and £10 respectively and the meat was absolutely delicious. Sorry not to have been able to have the cream tea as our stay was a bit too short. Also missed the purchase of the Jersey cow milk, which looked delicious. One negative comment would be the noise of the traffic from the nearby road, which is unavoidable.

The campsite is easy to find from the main road (A36) and well sign posted. It's a small site and not crowded with good facilities and added bonus of delicious cream teas and pizza. The river was the high point of our stay and we enjoyed paddling, swimming and rowing our dingy up and down. Something for all ages. There's lots of space to play in and explore and some farm animals to meet. Showers and toilets were regularly cleaned and easy to access. The staff are polite, helpful and relaxed and other campers easy to befriend. There isn't a shop but there are two garages nearby - both within a ten minute drive. It was just so lovely, we had a fab time - thank you so much!

Excellent campsite. Stayed here as visiting Longleat Safari Park. Friendly, welcoming hosts. Spotless toilets and showers. Big campsite with loads off space. Lovely rural, quiet, laid back atmosphere, whilst still being a very professional set up. Had a great stay here. Highly recommend to all, will definitely be back again next year. Big thumbs up!

We had never stayed at Stowford Manor before but we're pleasantly surprised with the set up. Our campsite was one of 3 and a large, long field furthest from the manor house with the river Frome running along one side of it. At one end we could see Farleigh Hungerford castle (a 10min walk away and worth checking out) and the other end was the Manor House. We didn't swim in the river, but plenty of others did and our dog enjoyed himself! There's a shallow, walk in entrance to the river near the manor house (great for kids) otherwise along our campsite it's a jump off the river bank. We didn't feel particularly overlooked by other campers. It was the least busy of the 3 fields. The only downside of our field was the road noise from the A366 which runs alongside the site and was quite busy on the Friday night. We arrived on a Friday night and they were rather handily serving up wood fired pizzas and cider. The house also serves cream teas from 2pm-6pm daily (would recommend!) and sells other bits. like a breakfast box with eggs, bacon and sausages. In the mornings, there's a little coffee van. The shower/toilet block in our field had 2 toilets and 2 showers and there were 2 sinks outside for washing up with warm water and a drinking water tap. The block could have been cleaned a bit more often (seemed to be daily) but it was ok. We checked out the local pub on Saturday night (few mins drive away) and their menu was very good. Shops in Trowbridge were about a 10 min drive away. If you want to explore further, there are lots of lovely canal walks about a 20 min drive away (we did Bathampton to Bath and Bradford upon Avon to Avoncliff).

This is a childhood dream. My young daughter loved the wild swimming with a little waterfall, a tyre swing and the tiny fish. I enjoyed showering in the cowshed with the original stalls and cobbles. It was wonderful how the showerhead was attached to the original hay feeders. The setting was beautiful, including the manor house. We thoroughly enjoyed a cream tea with lashings of cream. The place was rustic and wonderful!

Fantastic farm campsite with great facilities and a touch of nostalgia, directly next to a lovely river.

Great pitch by the river, the showers are a bit rustic (in a converted barn) but clean and hot (cost 50p). 3 toilets basic but clean. Advertised as having Wi-Fi but this was not available while we were there.
Wonderful site and great value

Beautiful location on the River Frome with easy access for paddling and beautiful swimming. Flat, level, grassy pitches with plenty of space. Friendly welcome and very helpful when I unavoidably had to amend my booking. Cream teas, pizzas on summer weekends and morning coffee van. Basic but effective facilities in rustic old farm buildings. Only 3 loos and 2 showers for a largish site but only had to wait once. I will definitely return 🙂

The site was a little snapshot of childhood heaven. The children made a bunch of friends within hours of arriving and spent the weekend on the river. We were located in the cricket field where the facilities were pretty grimy and the road noise was noticeable. The river side field was much quieter and the facilities there much cleaner and more modern. We would go back if we could guarantee the field we would pitch in.
Very nice farm campsite

We arrived at the end of their season we suspect, so it was very quiet. Suited us - we were out and about each day. The introduction was too basic - no document, we never did find the bathroom or if there were laundry facilities, however, the toilets were clean and quite adequate. A very interesting site with lots of various activities going on - a school, pottery etc. There is a stream with swimming opportunities. We felt quite safe and folks were around should we have decided to ask for bathroom etc answers. We were happy to stay as it suited our simple needs (it's a basic site) for a location with no other facilities.
