About Piccadilly Caravan Park

Set within wonderfully manicured grounds, this small family friendly site is an ideal base for exploring Wiltshire. Just 15 minutes from the Cotswolds and only 30 minutes from Bath, you will be spoilt for choice with where to go for your next day out! If you are camping in your tent, you can pick between non electric and optional electric pitches. For those in caravans, there are optional electric grass pitches and a further 20 optional electric hardstanding pitches for caravans, campervans, and motorhomes. All of the pitches welcome up to six guests, divided over several areas by hedging and planting to provide as much privacy and quiet as possible. For those who want a little bit of extra luxury, opt for one of the bell tents. For those who want the camping experience but don't have a tent, the unfurnished bell tent is the perfect option! Or, there are two furnished bell tents, the regular has a double bed and two singles and if you opt for the larger tent you can bring an extra bed to sleep up to five, bedding is included for both of these tents. Inside you will find lighting, an electric point, towels, cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment. For al fresco cooking, you will also have a BBQ. To keep the kids entertained, there is also a small playground and a designated games field, perfect for a game of football with the family. BBQs are also welcome, as long as they are raised from the ground, so make sure you remember to bring the burgers and sausages. Up to two four legged friends are allowed to join you for your stay, including in the bell tent, and there is even a dog walking field onsite.

Camping and touring is open from 1st April until 1st November, bell tents are available from 18th April until 1st October.

VW-Type Campervan - Optional Electric Hardstanding PitchesOct 2024

Last minute booking, campsite very quiet as near the end of the season. Facilities very well maintained. 10 minute walk into Lacock with choice of pubs and places to eat. Very faint traffic noise from the A350 but this did not cause a disturbance.

Single Axle Caravan - Optional Electric Hardstanding PitchesOct 2024

Ideally placed for visiting Lacock. Just need to cross a busy A road, otherwise a few minutes walk. All good with site and it's facilities. Problem was the warden. There was a large group of family campers with a dozen children. They really enjoyed the adventure playground. They were very polite to us other campers, but the warden did not like the (happy) noise they made in the playground, and stopped it all. Our friends had already been challenged for letting their dog bark for a few minutes. This is a site best suited to the silent minority who really value quiet but not peace.

The National Trust Village of Lacock is just a ten minute walk away. A quintessential village little changed in 200 years with streets lined with timber-framed houses and independent shops, not to mention the array of pubs within the village.

You can also explore the National Trust property of Lacock Abbey (5 minutes). The Abbey is a quirky country house, developed over the centuries around a former 13th century nunnery, and the birthplace of modern photography. It is set in spacious wooded grounds, with plenty of space to picnic, and is now recognisable from films varying from Pride and Prejudice to Harry Potter.

There are many picturesque towns to explore during your visit to Wiltshire. Scattered throughout the timeless countryside, Wiltshire's market towns feature historic buildings built from local stone, independent shops, cosy tea shops, and welcoming pubs. Many of these Wiltshire towns also still host regular markets where you can buy clothes, gifts and fresh produce.

Built in a gentle valley on the edge of the Cotswolds, Bradford on Avon (20 minutes) is a picture-perfect chocolate box town. Here you will find cottages made from local Bath stone, narrow historic streets and a plethora of independent retailers and small shops. The River Avon and the Kennet and Avon Canal also both run through the town.

Home to Wiltshire Museum and Wadworth Brewery, Devizes (20 minutes) is a historic market town in the centre of Wiltshire. With more than 500 listed buildings all oozing historic charm, and a spacious market place in the centre of town, there's lots to see here. There's a weekly market, many places to eat and drink, and some great independent shops.

Castle Combe (20 minutes) has been called 'The Prettiest Village in England' and with good reason. Visitors have been coming to enjoy its charms for at least a century and the small street leading from the Market Cross down to the By Brook is as picturesque today as it ever was.

Just 30 minutes away is the city of Bath. Built for pleasure and relaxation, beautiful Bath has been a wellbeing destination since Roman times. The waters are still a big draw, both at the ancient Roman Baths and the thoroughly modern Thermae Bath Spa, which houses the only natural thermal hot springs in Britain you can bathe in.

Bath's compact, visitor-friendly centre is overflowing with places to eat and drink, plus some of the finest independent shops in Britain, making it the ideal city break. Immerse yourself in Bath's remarkable collection of museums and galleries, and enjoy year-round festivals, theatre, music and sports.

Other nearby attractions include:

  • Caen Hill Locks (20 minutes)
  • Royal Victoria Park (30 minutes)
  • Alexandra Park (35 minutes)
  • The Roman Baths (35 minutes)
  • Longleat (35 minutes)
