We eventually found this site after some driving through Wick, the signposting could be a little better on the main road as the gateway is tucked behind some buildings. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly man who ran the site, he was very helpful and directed us to a pitch. The pitch and site layout was great, it was flat, you can park your car right next to the tent and there is a 6 person picnic bench. We pitched near the glamping tents - which looked great too with their own outdoor kitchen and seating provided. Once we got the tent set up the ladies needed to use the toilet, unfortunately this was the biggest negative of the site. We've all been to festivals and camped a lot before but these were way below par for both. They are a typical toilet trailer and we understand that we arrived late into the season and may have been between collections/cleans, but it must be improved. We refused to use them after this. There is a little hut with a single sink for water and washing up facilities - not enough for the size of the site. Note: only cold water is provided, so boiling is required for warm washing up (which isn't a problem and is typical at a lot of sites). The site looks great, the views out to sea are beautiful, but the toilet, showers and facilities need improving - especially as they are shared with the glamping tents. Comparing with a site in the peaks we visited earlier in the season, we paid a similar price with large hot water washing up facilities, a nice toilet block and an onsite cafe/bar. They were light and day different. I think the site is relatively new and I would like to see it after some improvements and during the high season. However, in the current state, I wouldn't return.
Site's response
Hi, Thank you for this. Signage is on order ready for next season :) With regards to the toilets, I feel this is very unfair. If you had said there was a slight smell from them then maybe I'd understand and appreciate, as you said, they are typical trailer toilets and difficult to eradicate. We have had no other such complaints all year regarding the toilets and in fact, been deemed as excellent facilities. I'm sorry they were not up to your standard.

We were so pleased to discover this little gem of a campsite. We had a great 3 night stay. The pitch was a good size and had plenty of room for our large tent and two cars. There was a wooden picnic bench on the pitch and a washing up station, toilets and showers nearby. The pitches were far enough apart to feel you had your own private area but it felt safe and friendly. There are numerous beaches a short drive away as well as places to shop. The owner was especially helpful with freezing ice blocks and got us out of a scrape by lending us jump leads when our car battery was flat. We took two young children and they thoroughly enjoyed running around the safe grassy site which had a football and games area within view of the pitches. We would recommend this site for all ages.

Stayed for a night to break up a long journey! Beautiful outlook over the water. Nice level pitches although no hard standings. Was a little tricky to find (don't use the postcode!) some directions or a bigger sign might be helpful in the future but the owner was responsive on the phone and able to direct us to the entrance.
