Fantastic place to relax. Loads of space to spread out to pitch but also for the kids to play about making up their own games and playing football etc. Toilets are spotless. Susan, the host was just so lovely.

Excellent site in a good location with plenty of flat-ish pitches. Site owner was lovely, very approachable and keen to ensure everyone had a good stay. Area is very quiet from early evening onwards but you're only 5-10 mins from local pubs, shops etc. The only negative is that the facilities are very limited. If you have your own (camper / caravan) that's not a problem or if, like us, you visit in a quiet mid-week, it's fine. However, this would be an inconvenience at busy times and something to be aware of.

A really enjoyable camping weekend stay at Bankfoot Camping. Our party consisted of seven adults, one child and two dogs with three tents. The field which was adjacent to the farm complex was large with a number of picnic tables for use. There was also a small unit which was the toilet and shower block. The male facilities only provided one shower with toilet, two extra toilets and a small sink, but there wasn't an issue with waiting and the shower was nice and hot. A drinking water tap and bins were also provided too. We found a lovely spot on the field near to the entrance to pitch our three tents and Susan, the host, came to welcome us. She was a really lovely lady and made sure we were happy with everything. We also hired a firepit from her and purchased several bags of logs, all at a very reasonable price. The location was good to visit nearby places. The first day, we had a trip into Hexham which was less than 20 minutes away by car. The day of leaving, we went to Wheelbirks Parlour which was 5 minutes away. This was also situated within a farm complex and was very popular. As well as ice cream on the menu, they make a cracking bacon and sausage sandwich and a nice cuppa. So, as a quick summary, Susan and her husband went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The location was great with nice views, the field was good for pitching tents and I wouldn't hesitate in visiting again or highly recommending Bankfoot Camping to others.

Lovely campsite but got little sleep due to groups partying all night

The campsite itself was in a nice location, well kept, and offered good facilities which were well maintained and regularly cleaned. In this respect one of the best campsites I have every stayed at. The host was also very friendly and came around to check on campers and ask if they needed anything. The only problem with the campsite was that there were an incredibly selfish group of campers who played music with party lighting until about 5am in the morning. On the following night, they were joined by a touring van that also pumped out loud music all evening. When I saw the host on the following morning, she stressed that I should feel free to call her to let her know of any issues and that she would resolve them - I appreciated this. That said, after 2 nights of little sleep, I decided to cut my holiday plans short and go home to my house in the city for a bit of peace and quiet. In future, I will now make a point of checking if prospective campsites welcome groups, and only use campsites that don't.

The camping is in a convenient location close to Durham and Newcastle. There were lots of campers who stop for the night. The grass was in very good condition and the facilities were basic but adequate. We liked the warm reception of the owner to the campers, chatting with her and her tips about what to do in the area.

The simple, basic facilities were cleaned twice a day. A warm welcome from the owner. An ideal site for those looking for a site where you require a quiet, simple experience. The field is large and the owners deliberately keep numbers down to retain a good experience.

At such short notice and not arriving until after 8pm we were welcomed regardless. It's a beautiful place with clean showers and toilets. Infact, this is one of the best camp sites we've been to by far, I can't recommend this pop up campsite enough. If you just need a break from everyday life then this is definitely the place to come, just being out in nature and the sounds of farm animals is just pure beauty. This campsite welcomed my brother with open arms, and a little break will be fantastic for him as everyone needs time out once in a while. It's such a breath of fresh air, I will definitely be camping there myself with my husband in the future - it's perfect and deserves the recognition. You have a choice of electric hook-up which is great if you want to cook or charge up lights and phones. I have found my dream campsite and I'm now jealous it's my brother camping there and not me. 😂 To sum this site up in one word I'd say: wow. Also please respect the land and enjoy.

We stayed here as a big group of friends and kids and had a great weekend. Simple little site just the field and toilets/showers but plenty room to space out so not on top of each other. The owner is lovely and made you feel very welcome.

A great campsite if you're after basic, easy to use and with friendly, helpful service. The farmer's wife is principally involved in running it and she came around most evenings to make sure everyone was happy and had everything they needed. It's a large grassy field accessed off a quiet country road, with a row of electric hookups along one hedge, a male and female portaloo which is kept scrupulously clean and stocked with necessaries. Plenty of bins close by and at least two taps in different parts of the field. I reckon they might be fed from a spring, as the water tasted really good- we refilled our water bottles from it. The upper edge of the field is raised and is best for tents. Don't camp - or drive - in the middle, it's a bit soft and wet. We were warned about it by the farmer but some people didn't heed the warning and were towed out with a tractor. Very entertaining! Handy for Corbridge, the A69 and Hadrian's Wall, but well away from all the hustle and bustle. We would heartily recommend it!

Brilliant pop up site, a few electric pitches, spotless site, fantastically friendly owner who checked we were comfortable. Big plus for me, was that we were allowed to take and use own fire pit. Will def be back again! Oh, and the views - stunning.

We booked as a last minute getaway, the campsite is on a working farm with wonderful views all around. The owner is very friendly and approachable, we asked if a washing up area could be recommended. We really enjoyed our short stay and would love to return on many occasions.

Lovely camping spot, in a large field next to a farm in beautiful gently rolling hills. My 9yo son and I stayed midweek and it was quiet with lots of space. There's a trailer converted with several toilets and two showers (the shower was mercifully hot and with good water pressure). There are a few power sockets at one end of the field, which was a major bonus for us. I took a peak at one of the bell tents, it's fantastic inside with a double (king?) bed, sofa, single bed/chaise longue and wood burning stove. The host was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

When myself and my family arrived at the campsite, the heavens had started to open and it was like a monsoon had decided to hit us at totally the wrong time. My wife's makeup looked like she had just been to a family member's funeral. It was all down her face and I looked like a 6ft drowned rat and to say I was not in the best of moods is an understatement. The idea of getting back in the car and going home had popped into my head until an angel in a rangey pulled up and made us an amazing offer we couldn't refuse. This angel was the owner and her name is Susan, she offered us an upgrade to one of her amazing glamping tents for a small fee and, well, I felt like I could have danced with Michael Flatley. The thought of getting myself and my family out of the rain just brightened my day. The rest of the weekend went without a hitch and we had an amazing time staying here. Me and my wife have decided to book up again next year, maybe for a week this time. Thank you once again Susan for your generous hospitality you really are a life saver ❤
