We stayed two nights in a furnished bell tent that was well-equipped with a double bed and two single futons. We had our own excellent kitchen, hot shower and also a compost toilet. Everything was very convenient and the on-site cafe was a bonus. On-site freezer for ice blocks.
Nice place!

A lovely little campsite and as the name suggests one of the benefits is to view the stars at night. The facilities, whilst basic do provide for essential requirements. The outside showers where a great feature with lots of hot water. The new café was frequented both mornings for breakfast and lunch on final day just before departure - a great asset to have on hand. The camping spaces more than adequate and there was an eco feel to the whole location. Lovely staff in both the café and shop! Will return and our grand-children from Italy, have already requested this for next year.
Good location and clean facilities but difficult to communicate

The surrounding area, especially the walking routes in Bedgebury, is stunning, and the facilities at the camping site were clean. There was also a nice shop and cafe. But after purchasing our pitches, we found it difficult to communicate the owner/manager of the camping site. Before we left home, I texted him to inform him that we would be arriving in the evening, but I received no reply. When we reached the campsite at 7pm, there was no one around to welcome us. We called both the landline and cell phone, and also left a voice message. No one returned to our calls/messages. We wandered around the site for at least half an hour, trying to locate the washing up station and find the map that was supposed to show the locations of pitches. Our pitch, Pixie's paddock 4, was difficult to find, as there was no indication of where the number 4 was located. Eventually, we decided to pitch our tents in a large meadow. So, unfortunately, the arrival was stressful.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you found it difficult to contact us, I can confirm that there was an issue with the mobile phone on the weekend that you arrived, we did receive your call but you could not hear us, unfortunately, we did not receive the text and that is something we are working on. The landline is only manned until 5:30 on weekdays. We do hope that you enjoyed your stay despite that, and come again.

The main field is beautiful. The individual open air hot showers are probably the best we have used on any site and far nicer than a traditional shower block. Compost toilet worked (once you got your head round it), though a cleaning spray to clean seat would have been nice. Unfortunately, there was an issue with our booking, so we were in an adjoining field which wasn't ready for the season. It wasn't as manicured as the main site, but the owners had honoured our booking which was nice and prepared us an area. It worked for us this time but others may not have been as happy when you see the main field. The new café never seemed to be open.
Site's response
Thank you Kirsty for your lovely review of our campsite, it's such a shame our main campsite was full, however, the new field is now up and ready for those who like slightly more wilder camping. The cafe is open 7 days a week in line with shop hours.

Our first experience of camping as a family and it went great, thanks mainly to this site and the tent we chose (Bramble). Tent was well appointed. They really do provide everything you need (apart from BBQ briquettes, my only suggestion as an addition). Private toilet was clean and comfortable (for an eco loo) and it was a hot shower! Kitchenette with everything you need. Comfortable double bed (though on the small size). Kids' futons were soft and cosy. Interior of tent was large, with cosy rugs, fairy lights and cushions to make it feel like home. Great café next to the farm shop. Tons of books to go with the delicious pastries, cakes and hot food. Definitely recommend and will aim to go back.

An excellent site with well spaced apart pitches and good facilities- clean shower cabins and compost toilets which were well built and maintained. Solar lights above the washing up area where all the relevant information was displayed and suggested walks were marked on maps. The middle of the field was left to grow naturally which gave a great feeling of space and closeness to nature. An excellent farm shop and cafe on the farm nearby was very handy.

Just returned from a 3 night break with friends. We stayed in Thistle and Nettle. We have had a great break. The location was perfect, the site was peaceful and we enjoyed downtime from technology and the fast pace of life. Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Star Field Campsite and made some wonderful memories. It certainly lived up to its name, the night sky was very pretty. Seeing the morning sunrise and sun setting in the evening was beautiful. Being a single mum with 2 children and a dog I felt very safe here. There is everything you need if you do not wish to leave the site. Lovely farm shop and cafe a short walk from the campsite. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Reasonably priced. I would highly recommend.

Booked last minute for a family camping trip, called as had not been located together. They sorted this for me straight away. Brilliant service. Beautiful surroundings, were very helpful in giving directions for a walk. Brilliant cafe, farm shop on site.

Lovely, quiet, eco friendly site. We arrived in the rain in our camper. The track to the pitches were a bit slippery as it's on a slope, but after a quick chat, we were given an alternative pitch. Shame it was cloudy, because the site is dark, so on a clear night you can star gaze. There are long drop toilets (clean), and solar powered showers (lovely hot water). There are fire pits for each pitch. At the entrance to the site there is a well stocked farm produce shop, country store and café (delicious breakfast). A lovely stay and we would come back again. Our dog enjoyed it too.

Great site with lovely facilities which were clean and well maintained. We camped at the top of the site and had a lovely view of the meadow, trees and countryside beyond. Adjacent farm shop was a bonus. We walked into Cranford and then beyond to Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens

This is the first time we've been camping as a family and really enjoyed the experience. We chose this site because we could get a bell tent (we don't own any camping equipment) and take the dog. We liked that the site was well-spaced and much of the field was left as a meadow. The facilities were very good, much better than I expected, and everything was well-maintained and clean. It's very convenient for local towns and places of interest. We'd definitely return and try to get friends to come along too.

Excellent campsite, with great facilities in an unbeatable location. Excellent facilities and lovely staff. Location is ace, right next to a fishing lake and Balfour Vineyard. Not too far from Bewl lake for even more activities and boat fishing. Highly recommended and will be back.
Great weekend, quiet, clean and serene.

Pretty field, surrounded by trees, with extremely spacious plots, giving campers privacy. We booked 2 tent pitches and one bell tent. The bell tent had its own private toilet/basin/shower, and the others had access to the communal ones, which were more basic, but still clean, well stocked with toilet paper/hand wash, and nice warm water in the showers. The campsite is on the grounds of a farm (although we didn't see any animals). There is a nice farm shop, garden centre, and cafe on site. Great location, with loads to do in Kent - beach, castles, walks etc.
