The campsite was easy to find and we were warmly welcomed by the staff. You have beautiful views and the live music on Friday and Saturday nights played all the great classics, despite it pouring rain! Would happily go back again!

Great location, beautiful view across Portland and Weymouth. Exposed to the wind though so bear in mind when booking. Basic style campsite with the added bonus of on site bar, food and music - which ends at 10 so still a quiet site.

Nice view and a spacious, open field campsite, but very windy. Great location near to Weymouth beach and there is lots to do nearby. Open field pop-up campsite. There was entertainment of a band and food morning and evening (I did not use either but its a nice thought having it there). Not the greatest ground to pitch a tent, the grass was very long and it was very windy due to it being a open field. Facilities were clean but very basic, you cannot really have a decent shower or go to the toilet comfortably. Nice for a night or two max to get away and enjoy the great outdoors.

Friendly staff on arrival. Clean toilets. Minus for the "road" after rainy night it was hazardous to exit as it was muddy and slippery and it's down the slope. Music played from 7pm till 9pm gutted it rained and we couldn't enjoy it properly. Nice views of the sea.
A very remote, beautiful place for camping

The location of the campsite is just breath-taking, the view is worth more than an expensive resort. We loved our stay at Donkey Down. Really enjoyed we could get South African takeout, which was such a surprise for us being South African. We did a lot of walking to the beach as well and walking in the meadows. I would highly recommend Donkey Down campsite .Well worth the money you pay as well. The owners are so welcoming and so helpful too.

I stayed for 2 nights and everything was good, staff are amazing. I felt the facilities a little bit primitive but always clean and water hot. In an ideal world, there would be washing up and drinking water up the top of the field too. A brilliant live band on Saturday night, would I stay again? YES! It was fantastic value for money.

We loved this site. It kept things simple and for what it offered, it did so well. Quality bacon bap for breakfast, good coffee. Even a glass of prosecco in the evening whilst sitting on a bake looking out at the wonderful view. Lots of great people. Excellent value. Even a band playing that night, but the field was big enough that you could camp at the other end if you want a quiet night. Fabulous night. Huge thanks.
Fantastic stay, spectacular views!

Myself and my partner stayed here for one night and the campsite was very tranquil and very family orientated. The view from the hill was absolutely spectacular day and night! You can see all over Bowleaze Cove! Check in was very quick, they have a little area as you come in the entrance that sells food/drinks etc they also rent BBQ's and sell logs. They had live music on during the evening which was a lovely touch and made our evening very joyful and relaxing. There were toilet/shower blocks situated around the park and they were kept clean and restocked often. It was a bit of a steep hill to gain entry to the site however this is no reflection on the park itself. 10 minute drive to Weymouth beach.
Absolutely perfect!

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 nights and it was absolutely amazing. The views were incredible, especially at night. The hosts were so friendly and lovely, the facilities were spot on and the live music on Saturday night was amazing. We also hired a fire pit from there for £5 for the weekend, which made the nights more perfect whilst toasting marshmallows. We had the best time and will definitely be back again. Thank you so much for our stay!!

Lovely time at this site - albeit windy but to be expected on top of a hill! Plus the views from the location were spectacular, so far outweighed the need for a jumper! Friendly owners and a peaceful, gorgeous location. So so close to the main town by car- as well as a village, with a shop etc.
Noisy and cramped

Really noisy park. So called quiet area full of kids and people who thought it was ok to have music blaring out. Toilets were disgusting and full!
Great campsite!!

We had such a nice time staying at Donkey Down, As a couple hiking/camping, it was the perfect place to come unwind after a 30km day. Drinks, showers, and live music were all great value for money. It seemed like a great place for families and bigger groups as well and had a great atmosphere. Breakfast in the morning before heading off was lovely including a much-appreciated coffee. If we ever camp in the area again we will definitely be back, and would recommend to anyone!
Loved it!

We booked our stay last minute on a bit of a whim (first time taking our 3 year old camping), and we really loved it! The view was phenomenal and the location was perfect. The staff were really lovely and advised us to set up at the top of the hill if we wanted a quieter stay. Even the showers were pleasantly surprising - warm and with good power! Would definitely recommend and for the price, you get more than what you'd expect!

Donkey Down is in an amazing location. It's so close to the beach with a shop less than 5 minutes away. The views are amazing and the people working there are so kind and friendly. Also, so helpful! We forgot part of our cooker and they gave me a flask with hot water so I could give my baby his bottles until we could get to a shop in the morning! Overall a great campsite and lovely atmosphere, especially when the band was playing on the Saturday night!
