Higher Aunemouth is a family-run camp ground near Bantham Beach where dogs are welcome.
About Higher Aunemouth Campsite
Higher Aunemouth Farm has been in the same family for three generations and has had a camping ground since the late 1960s. Run by Alex and Sian Williams, it offers simple back to basic camping with few facilities but a fantastic location less than half a mile to the beach. There are 50 basic camping pitches available over two fields plus the option of renting a fire bowl and buying wood onsite. Allocated on first come, first served basis. This is simple camping in rustic surroundings and a remote location - and with cows on the farm, you should expect some farming activity around you!
Open from 1 April to 15 September

Things to do on site and in the Kingsbridge area
A good pub and beach are just down the road at Bantham, but for more action there is plenty to do at local towns, Salcombe, Totnes and Dartmouth.
Bantham's beautiful expanse of sandy beach is overlooked by the stunning Burgh Island, perfect for families and water sports enthusiasts with RNLI lifeguard cover from May to October.
The beach is a few minutes drive away or about a 20 minute walk. You can get there on foot via the road or if you turn right at the 'farms only' sign and left at the bottom of the hill, a footpath leads down to the beach along the stunning Avon estuary.
There are toilets and the 'Gastro Bus' which sells food and drink at the beach and Bantham Stores in the village offers tea, coffee, drinks, snacks and ice creams plus a shop selling newspapers, food supplies and beach accessories. The Sloop Inn pub also offers a full lunch and dinner menu.
Surfing, kite surfing, stand up paddle boarding and windsurfing are all very popular on the beach and there is a separate swimming area designated by the red and yellow flags which is monitored daily by the lifeguard service.
For surfing/paddle boarding lessons, try the Discovery Surf School located at Bigbury Beach right next door to Bantham, or the Surf Academy at Bantham. Surf board and wetsuit hire is available from TriOcean Surf Shop at the South Hams business park in nearby Churchstow.
Local towns are Kingsbridge, Totnes and Dartmouth, great for shopping and restaurants. Nearby is Woodlands Adventure Park, great on a not so sunny day.
