Things to do on site and in the Braunton area
Whilst immersed in the Devon countryside, it is easy to get out and stretch your legs. The site is only a short walk away from the sandy beaches of Saunton Sands, Croyde and Putsborough and all have plenty of options for hiring surf equipment and taking surfing lessons.
Middleborough Hill is an idyllic spot to walk to and provides sea views as well as being a lookout point over the nearby village of Croyde. The Tarka Trail is great for cyclists and there is also excellent flat cycling around Braunton Marshes.
Nearby is an area of Special Scientific Interest, the dunescape of Braunton Burrows. The 4 square mile area is a Biosphere Reserve and here you can find an abundance of wildlife including rare fauna, wild foxes and deer. This is a must see for explorers as it is rarely busy and so is great for peace and quiet.
Other attractions include:
- A visit to Ilfracombe and Lundy Island
- Devon Cream Teas anywhere in Exmoor
- The quaint village of Clovelly
