Troytown Farm Campsite is a small family-run site which offers traditional camping with just canvas, or a spot of glamping luxury inside a bell tent. Here's a combination of rural idyll with a chance to sleep right on the beach front, nothing but ocean views ahead of you.
About Troytown Farm Campsite
Camping on site is without designated pitches, so all manner of tent shapes and sizes can be accommodated. For a totally carefree holiday, there are also a few canvas bell tents for hire. Bell tents are provided pre-erected and fully equipped for up to 4 people, and are pitched in ideal spots with great views. Provided inside are a picnic table, cooking and dining equipment, a camping stove and chairs, plus lanterns and airbeds. Wake up to the sound of the sea, spend your day relaxing on the campsite's own beach, then after dining in the open air, take a look at the sunset from your tent and count stars in the night sky without the light pollution of urban areas. At peak times the campsite is a true family site, with fabulous views, a sandy beach and a safe, natural environment without busy roads. It's a very popular spot for families to allow their kids some free play and adventure before returning back to town and school on the mainland. Outside of the school holidays, the campsite is a peaceful retreat, with nature and beautiful scenery on every horizon. The island of St Agnes is only one mile across so the many carns and coves can be explored on foot and it's incredibly accessible. A great pub, cafe and shop are only a short walk away and there is even a shop selling essentials such as milk and bread on site. During the summer months it is essential to book in advance and please check first for availability. Outside of peak times, visitors can arrive with short notice and find a calm spot to pitch. School groups, scout groups and activity groups such as swimmers, kayakers or diving clubs are all welcome.

Site rules and policies
For glampers, staff aim to have accommodation ready for you by around midday on the day of your arrival. This usually fits in well with boat transfer times and means that you won't have to wait to get into your accommodation after you arrive on the island.
Usual check out for glampers is around 10am.
Things to do on site and in the Isles Of Scilly area
For summer stays of a week or more on St Agnes, don't miss the chance to take a boat trip around Scilly. You can explore all of the other inhabited islands, take fishing trips or wildlife boat tours. Seals pop up often at the island and puffins breed close at hand. In the autumn, St Agnes is host to rare migratory birds. St Agnes and the adjoining island of Gugh are beautiful and unspoilt, designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
A big draw on the island are the many beautiful coves and bays including Pereglis, the Bar and Covean, which is St Agnes' secret secluded bay. The beaches have smooth white sand and so are ideal for sunbathing, rockpooling, swimming or just sitting and watching the motion of the waves. Gear for watersports such as kayaks and canoes can be hired just beside the campsite.
Even in peak season, it it's not hard to find a cove entirely to yourself thanks for the small population of the island.
For outdoor lovers, the clear waters around St Agnes are great for snorkelling, diving, fishing and kayaking. The many granite carns around the coastline are popular with climbers, and there are all-weather facilities for tennis and football in place for hire. Go for a run and take in the world-class views, for a feeling of true freedom!
On Friday and Wednesday nights in summer, all of the islands compete in fiercely contested gig races. Jump on a spectator boat and cheer on St Agnes' gig, the Shah, which is bound to win!
On any given sunny Sunday cricket matches are likely taking place on the island. The most important event of the season is when St Agnes, St Martins and Tresco compete for the coveted Triangle trophy.
There is tasty cafe serving local food, and a local fish restaurant for an appetising evening meal all within easy reach.
