About Coverack Camping

Located just above the picturesque fishing village of Coverack. This friendly and welcoming site offers six meadows for campers to enjoy. Some pitches enjoy sea views with Coverack just minutes away via "Lovers Walk" which takes you to the sandy beach and harbour, great if you are into swimming and water sports. The grass pitches offer plenty of space for tents and campervans in small natural meadows with Cornish hedges, full of native flora and fauna for shelter. Some pitches have sea views. There are also grass/gravel pitches with electric hook up for those who want a little more comfort, these do not have sea views. Bring a fire pit and get the BBQ going, or toast up some marshmallows from your pitch as dusk falls. Fire pits are available to hire and wood can be purchased on site. If glamping is more your thing stay in one of the insulated Celtic Longhouse Tents. Sleeping up to six, each comes with beds (linen provided), a kitchen, a sofa and an outside area with a picnic table, fire pit and grill. Or try the insulated Celtic Pod Tent, sleeping up to four, (bring your own bedding). Outside there is a picnic table, fire pit and grill for al fresco dining. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept under control at all times.

Coverack Camping is open from 28/03 to 03/11.

A note from the site themselves...

We, Jake and Annette Roskilly have been very fortunate to inherit this well-established campsite from Jake's uncle and aunt, Ben and Georgia. Jake was born here and has lived and worked most of his life on the Roskilly Ice Cream Farm.

Annette is German and has lived in Frankfurt, a massive change of lifestyle for Annette from working as a care home manager to helping run a campsite. Note from Jake "It only took 30 years of courtship to persuade Annette how wonderful I was, then love brought her to Coverack!"

We took over the campsite in 2021 and realised our campers wanted plenty of space with good basic facilities. For us, it was important not to change the character while making the campsite as eco-friendly and as close to nature as possible.

As luck would have it, we met Sam (Samantha) and Zack who offered to help get the campsite up and running, they are still with us helping out each summer and are now an integral part of the running of the site.

The campsite as it was, was definitely no frills. Ben encouraged his campers to bring tool kits for maintenance purposes! He was a real character and people loved him for it. Over the past 60 years, many regular campers have been returning year after year to this great location just above Coverack village.

We are proud of our wild hedges and have been extensively planting native trees and bushes to enhance and create shelter. We love our campsite without artificial light at night, you can see the Milky Way, hear the owls calling and the sound of the sea in the background. We hope you enjoy this close to wild camping experience.

It truly is a blessing to have met such a varied and interesting group of people at the campsite. Here's to many more memories and connections to be made. Jake and Annette

Backpacker Tent - Non Electric Grass Backpacker PitchesSep 2024

I was a lone female camper in a tent in the Upper Meadow. I could not recommend this place more highly. I met several lone female walkers doing the SW coastal path. We all agreed, it was great campsite for us. The location was perfect for the Sea, there was a coastal path and walking/running. Shops were with in walking distance in the village. The facilities, hot showers, charging points, freezer, were everything you need. There was a communal eating area for if the weather turns. The pitches are perfect and sheltered, the toilets are clean. Isaac and the team on the campsite were regularly on hand to offer local knowledge and advice if needed. I would definitely return, although I'd prefer a Sea View pitch next time. Thank you Isaac and the team for your professionalism. It was a relaxed, enjoyable holiday and very peaceful 🏕️🐾

Wonderful campsite!

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Backpacker PitchesAug 2024

We had such a lovely time camping here! Everyone was so helpful and cheerful. The location is fantastic - a very short walk down into Coverack. The facilities were brilliant - best I’ve seen at a campsite. Couldn’t recommend this campsite enough :)

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Bay Field)Aug 2024

My boyfriend and I stayed at Coverack Campsite for 5 nights for his birthday. We had such a lovely, relaxing time. We stayed in Bay Field and it was perfectly located with a sea view. When it was quiet we could hear the sound of the sea and the stars on a clear night were incredible. The showers were always nice and warm for us and there are plenty of toilets around as well as drinking water stations. We had hired a fire pit for our stay and occasionally needed to buy some extra wood. They have a very easy system of texting a number to ask for it to be delivered to your pitch that same day. Isaac delivered our wood and was very kind and friendly, sharing some good stories about Coverack. Coverack is a short walk from the campsite which we did a few times during our stay, a few nice places to eat with lots of great scenery. We would definitely stay at Coverack Campsite again. Thank you for a great camping holiday!
