About The Hide at Manton bay

Located on the south edge of Rutland Water, this adult only site offers peaceful camping and glamping with scenic lake views. With a rural setting surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards, this site makes the perfect place to unwind and relax. For campers, there are a small number of secluded grass pitches. Each pitch is separated by thick hedging ensuring privacy, with access to shared toilets and showers nearby. The camping pitches are for two adults. If booking for more than two people, multiple pitches will need to be booked, even if sharing the same tent. Fancy a little more luxury? Stay in one of the charming bell tents with a private, modern bathroom and private garden area with a fire pit/BBQ, swing chair, hammock and outdoor dining table and chairs. Perfect for a night of al fresco dining and a cosy fire under the stars! Each tent has a king sized bed, lighting, electric heater, fridge, kettle, coffee and tea making facilities and electric sockets to keep your devices charged. The site also offers shepherd's huts and a glamping cabin which come with their own private, woodfired hot tub as well as an outdoor seating area with a fire pit/BBQ. The huts and cabin are equipped with electrics, heating, a fridge, gas hob, kettle and ensuite bathroom with a shower and toilet. The shepherd's huts have a large double bed whereas the cabin has a king sized bed. There is also a lodge onsite with a double and two single beds, ensuite and private garden. If you are after adventure, activities such as open water swimming, kayaking, golf and fishing can be found on your doorstep. The site also lies along the Rutland Water cycle path, taking you to Normanton church in around 30 minutes. Dogs are welcome, but must be agreed with the site before arrival. Please note, the site is open all year but the bell tents and camping pitches are only available from April to October.

Facilities and amenities

Site facilities include shared toilets and showers for campers and a communal washing up area. The bell tents have their own private bathrooms and the shepherd's hut, cabin and lodge have an ensuite, all with a toilet, sink and shower.

A five minute drive will take you to Edith Weston Village Store, selling essentials and local baked goods. Alternatively, Oakham is a ten minute drive away where you can find a wide range of shops, supermarkets and restaurants. The nearest pub is the Horse and Jockey Inn which is 35 minute walk away.
