A slice of Paradise!

Our family of three and our two dogs recently stayed in the Kingfisher Tent at Tregonetha Lake, and we had the most wonderful experience! The tent was spacious, cozy, and well-equipped, offering us a perfect blend of comfort and the charm of camping in nature. We loved waking up to the peaceful sounds of birds chirping and stepping outside to take in the beautiful views of the lake. Our little one especially enjoyed exploring the surrounding greenery and watching the wildlife around the water. The setting was incredibly relaxing, and it was the perfect place for our family to unwind and spend quality time together. Whether we were walking along the lake's edge or simply sitting by the water with a cup of tea, we felt completely at peace. The Kingfisher Tent gave us a wonderful connection to the outdoors without sacrificing comfort, making it an ideal getaway for families. Mel & Tom were helpful and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. We can’t wait to come back for another stay—it truly felt like a little slice of paradise!

Lovely eco friendly site

Located 15 mins from Newquay the site is clean with a lovely lake. Mel and Tom were always on hand if we needed anything. Tent was a really good size and all the facilities were immaculately clean.

Lovely campsite

Lovely campsite. Kept very clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Communication from them was also brilliant. Lovely lake for children to fish. Would recommend and come back.

A beautiful place to stay!

Recently stayed here with some friends in the Kingfisher Glamping tent! It was so lovely - we had the best time. The setting around the fishing lake was beautiful! Location was perfect - so close to Rock, Padstow, Polzeath and even Newquay! Both Mel and Tom were great hosts too - the tents themselves were beautifully presented and very well equipped. Couldn’t recommend more! :)

Summer holiday

Overall a lovely campsite in a great location, with very friendly owners. Whole family loved our stay and would go back again.

Such an amazing campsite!

Will stay again. From the moment we arrived the campsite was amazing. Super quiet location. Really clean facilities. And super friendly people. If you're looking to disconnect a little bit whilst still being within 20 minutes of Newquay, this is the place for you. 10 out of 10 will come again.

Birthday surprise

I hired a bell tent for my partner's surprise birthday, we were only coming from Newquay. The site did not disappoint. The toilets were well kept and did not smell at all. The hand wash/washing up and showers had really hot water which was a great surprise. We walked around the lake many times with the kids and dogs, had a fire. The tents were beautiful, we had a fully made up one, with cosy blankets and rugs, it was perfect. The kitchen area also had everything you would need and extras. The salt and herbs were a great thought. Would definitely recommend the site to friends and would definitely return for some wild camping.

Really enjoyed. Beautiful lake. Tent set up nice and everything thought of. Great value. Owners really helpful and lovely.

Beautiful, quiet campsite

We stayed at Tregonetha Lake for four nights in August. The campsite is beautiful and very peaceful. It's small, but was quite busy when we were there, which was nice. The online description says it's family friendly, but with a lake on one side and a road right outside the gate, if you do bring young children (we didn't) you'd have to watch them very carefully. The showers and toilets were very nice and clean. I had never used composting toilets before, and wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. We came to stay while my daughter was at the Boardmasters Festival. We had days out in Penzance, Land's End, Bodmin, Fowey and Newquay. They were all easy to get to, so the location was perfect.

Picturesque, peaceful, and faultless

Seriously nothing I can fault about this campsite. There is plenty of space to set up a camp, and the campsite is a 'pitch where you like' style, so doesn't feel over-the-top organised. The toilet/washing facilities are spotless and like something out of a fairytale. The view of the lake directly next to the camping area is a lovely sight when sitting at your camp, and very convenient for anyone planning a to go fishing. Having been to many campsites, this is one of my all time favourites.

Great campsite

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights for Boardmasters festival and it couldn't have been better. The campsite is lovely, including nice facilities with hot showers, which were kept clean. The owners of the campsite are welcoming and even gave us a lift to the festival free of charge! Also should have brought a fishing rod as the lake looked nice.

Very reasonably priced eco-campsite

Beautiful location on a fishing lake (I don't fish, but it's well stocked apparently). I did see a kingfisher which made my day. The facilities are clean and brand spanking new. Biggest thunderboxes I have ever used - and the showers were roomy and excellent too. I was a solo traveller with a dog, on an ebike - it was a little way away from the pub (around 3miles). Very reasonably priced - as they charge pp rather than per tent. Mel and Tom also charged my bike battery and phone/powerpack - they were both so helpful and friendly. The campsite was perfect for my needs.

Excellent campsite

The campsite is by a beautiful lake, with lots of wildlife and it very well maintained. The showers are perfect and the toilets are brilliant. Although the compost toilets can take a bit of getting used to, they are presented in such a lovely way and there are lots of lovely touches that make it feel natural, but hygienic and cosy. I love what they stand for, being as eco friendly as possible. They have thought of everything and the products they provide are amazing. You can tell just how passionate the owners of the campsite are and they are such friendly and welcoming people. We felt like we had plenty of privacy, yet knew we could talk to someone if we needed anything. We actually chose the site for the lake mainly as my husband and 7 year old love fishing, but it's beautiful even if you're not into that. It's the perfect place to just to relax surrounded by nature and hearing the ducks in the morning was such a lovely way to wake up. The bell tents looked very nice, but we had our own large tent and had plenty of space. I can't thank the owners enough for how accommodating they were.
