About The Larches Caravan Park
Situated between the stunning landscapes of the Lake District and the beautiful beaches of the Solway Coast, this is an ideal spot to enjoy the outdoors. Being adult only, you can enjoy peace and quiet as you sit back and soak in the wonderful countryside views. All the pitches are fully serviced with water, waste and 16 amp electric. There are 15 grass pitches for both tents and tourers, along with 15 hardstanding pitches for tourers only. Each pitch allows up to just two guests to ensure the park is never too crowded. You also don't need to worry about sharing facilities as each pitch comes with its own dedicated wetroom in the facility block. Each includes a toilet, a basin and a shower so you can enjoy a relaxed morning routine without having to worry about a queue! There are also ten holiday homes on offer, each fully furnished and with central heating. The park is home to a host of natural creatures, so be on the alert for elusive red squirrels, swooping buzzards and plenty of other birds and wildlife waiting to meet you. Dogs can also join you onsite, with up to two allowed per pitch.
The Larches Caravan Park is open from 01/03 to 30/10.
Site facilities include an amenity block with designated bathrooms for each pitch that offers a shower, toilet with a hair dryer and even a vanity unit. There is a dog walking area on site and disabled facilities too. An on-site caravan accessories and supplies shop is provided for guests.
There is a Co-op Food just ten minutes from the site and the Greyhound Inn is just five minutes away.

I had a fantastic 2 night stay at The Larches. Judith was a wonderful host and the campsite is a great place to stay. I particularly liked the dedicated bathroom, which was spotlessly clean. I slept like a log :-) Can't wait to return next year.

Had a fantastic 3 nights stay at the Larches, nothing was too much trouble for the owners. Great wash facilities with your own dedicated shower /toilet room, and had a choice of lovely pitches on arrival, I would highly recommend.

We had a lovely week at The Larches. Judith and family worked hard to keep the site clean, we stayed in a trailer tent and on arrival were given a choice of pitch. The toilet and shower block is kept immaculately clean, a bonus was having your own allocated shower room, complete with a hairdryer. The site is adult only, so we enjoyed peace and quiet. Saw lots of wildlife, birds, rabbits and Owls. It is situated 15 miles from Keswick where we enjoyed market days on Thurs and Saturday, we also visited the Grange at Borrowdale, Penrith and Carlisle Judith and Chris were very friendly, they were relaxed about our late departure due to packing up the tent. We would definitely stay again

Things to do on site and in the Mealsgate area
The first stop has to be the unmissable Lake District (10 minutes). You'll find tempting walking country, fishing and great local golf courses all nearby!
After you've had your pick of the Lakes' sights, drive over to the Solway Coast (20 minutes) with its great beaches. Perhaps even challenge yourself to take on a section of the ancient Hadrian's Wall, you can join the route at Burgh by Sands, 25 minutes away.
Carlisle (30 minutes) itself is brimming with history and Cockermouth (15 minutes) offers a chance to potter around Wordsworth's childhood home and then try a tour and a tipple at The Castle Brewery.
