we had a lovely stay here this weekend. Very peaceful, great views and in a brilliant location for a 10 minute walk into Kirby Lonsdale. The site is only open during the off season for the Rugby Union, which is a shame as we would definitely come back. A great location for days out in the lakes.
Wow, what a view!

Great site very close to Kirby Lonsdale. Wow, the view we had. A pitch that looked out onto the hills with sheep that come right up to the fence. 5 minutes walk into the town where there is a number of bars and restaurants. Recommend and would stay again. The facilities of the loos and shower is in the rugby club. We stayed for 2 night and they weren't maintained, mop provided was dirty so we couldn't clean before or after us. Shower was a push button style with hot water. The grass at the site is very long and in need of cutting, our shoes and trousers was always wet and damp. A bit more TLC at this site and it could be very good. Tips, club house for us was not worth visiting, so walk into town. Book a grass pitch, rather than the hard standing as your literally in a car park, and ask for the front row - you won't be disappointed.

Tried to go to the bar twice and it was closed. One was around 8:30pm on Friday and the other was 7:00pm on Saturday. Not an issue, just want to make a point as advised that it was open from 6.30pm when checking in and if it was, would have had drinks in there. Shower facilities were dirty. There should be a proper shower block like other campsites instead of using the rugby changing rooms. Would I visit again - yes due to the site being nice and convenient location.

Had everything we wanted. Great views, 10 mins walk to the village. Plenty of bars restaurants shops. Clubhouse was open Friday and Saturday. Check in was so easy. Dave & partner (sorry, forgot your name) were very helpful. Thanks for the little tips you gave us, really enjoyed our walks. We will definitely be back.

We stayed on site in our motorhome (family of five). The site is easy to find, Dave had called to help us with check-in and was friendly and accommodating. Facilities were clean and the showers were hot (if you waited a minute for them to warm up). The view across the valley was beautiful and the rugby ground was well-maintained, surrounded by huge old trees. We set up our swing ball and the kids enjoyed playing. It was a short ten-minute walk into the town where we found a great pub and the kids enjoyed the old-fashioned sweet shop.
