Small Tent - Walled Garden Pitches (Small)Aug 2024

Very well kept site. Extremely clean and tidy. We stayed at the Castle View pitches and love the woodland surroundings. The only downside is a long walk from the hub to the pitch. Not a bad walk but tough going when carrying all our gear in the rain. A good bit of exercise first trip that I enjoyed but I can see this being difficult for some. They do offer a service to move all your equipment up for you, but in my mind, that's cheating. Love the site and will probably be back in the future.

Small Tent - Wild Camping Castle View Pitch (Small) Aug 2024

Stayed in Castle View. A peaceful wooded area on the ridge. Wild camp experience. 10-15 minute walk up from car park and main facilities. Walk-up is steep and wet in places. Wooded area has compost toilet and water close by. 5 pitches up top, scattered but close. If a lot of gear to take up, the site offer optional taxi service for a price. Consider doing. Peaceful camp. Very few insects on our stay. Fire pits and some free wood is a nice feature. Plenty of good trees to run a tarp to. Can walk along the ridge then down to Denholm. Would recommend.

Lovely team, stunning views, get the kit assist

Medium Tent - Wild Camping Home Wood Pitches (Medium)Aug 2024

Me, my partner and my toddler stayed for a weekend of wild camping in home woods. On check in with the friendly staff, we were shown around the lovely hub area and it's great facilities before being directed up the track towards the woods we were staying in. The guy who checked us in seemed slightly shocked when checking our booking seeing that despite having a toddler in one arm and a load of kit at the car, I hadn't opted for the kit assist option (I wasn't sure we would make it in time for it to be classed as sociable hours as I was working that day, and working in tourism myself, I'd hate to be the customer stopping someone getting home for there tea). This was a mistake on our part. The 10 minute hike is uphill, but not challenging, unless you're carrying a toddler and all the stuff they need. It also wasn't helped by the fact we missed the turn off and got lost halfway up. I don't know how, it's really well sign posted, we just did. Thankfully, they make sure to give you their number on check in so after a quick phone call, we where back on track and found our woodland get away. All this struggle could have been avoided if I'd just paid the extra £8, then I could have had a lovely saunter up the hill and followed the buggy up to the woods straight away. Home wood was lovely, each pitch has a fire bucket and they run up fire wood and drinking water every day for you. The composting loos are sound and there is a waste area for rubbish and recycling, it is windy up there mind, so bring some extra layers. First time I've done supported wild camping and I would definitely recommend. You get that feeling of seclusion and lovely views without any of the hard work (at least if your smart enough to book the kit assist) or risk , which is great particularly if you have kids. The next day, the again lovely, friendly staff were more than happy to book in the kit assist for the way down. We thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our stay, despite the difficult get in we had. We had a lovely time and we will definitely come again. Next time, we might go for the walled garden camping just for ease, but also it looked like one of the nicest "traditional" campsites I've seen.

Medium Tent - Walled Garden Pitches (Medium)Aug 2024

This was our first time staying here and we will definitely be back. The site was spotless, a perfect getaway for the family. The campsite had a hub which had cooking facilities (cooker, kettles, toaster etc) so you can take most foods to eat whilst there. It also had washing areas and fridges. The toilets and shower rooms are cleaned daily. There is also plenty of charging points for phones, ipads and more with free WiFi whilst sitting down at the hub area. The site operates a quiet time after 10pm which is also great to get a peaceful nights sleep. My children loved it, as we added in an extra of a log burner with logs which they could toast marshmallows over and enjoyed playing on the lawn looking at the dragon flies and playing with their lawn games. I definitely recommend staying here.

Large Tent - Walled Garden Pitches (Large)Aug 2024

As a first time camper, this has set the bar very high. We stayed in the walled garden area and the kids loved having a dedicated play zone for a kick about. Kitchen was spotless and well resourced. The hub was incredible, with areas for eating or chilling. Lots of information available for walks and special events the camp offers, like feeding horses or night time badger spotting. Staff were really friendly and helpful too.

Second time at this site, this time staying in the walled garden. Really enjoyed our stay and the kids loved exploring the woods in particular. Lots of space and great facilities whilst still feeling close to nature.

Safari Tent - Woodland Escape Safari Tent Apr 2024

Campsite was easy to find and they were expecting us when we arrived. Tent was well-stocked and comfy. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate but while we were inside, the tent was warm and dry. The campsite facilities were really good. Clean and warm showers and a well-equipped kitchen if you needed it. Will definitely make a return visit.

We had a wonderful time camping at Ruberslaw. Our pitch and bags of logs were easy to find and we had all the information we needed for a great stay. The history of the site is very interesting, and we enjoyed exploring the grounds. The hub was clean and all the pitches are well sheltered with lots of space. We will definitely stay again.

Medium Tent - Wild Camping Castle View Pitches (Medium)Aug 2023

Ruberslaw was everything and more! We had such a positive experience and time which we contribute to the organisation and communication from the team as well as a beautifully manicured landscape and working farmland to enjoy and experience. We were well informed prior to our holiday of what to expect as well as helpful information to help plan our visit. Ruberslaw is a gorgeous landscape where the owners have responsibly and respectfully included areas of the land for campers to enjoy. The facilities are impeccably clean, organised and tastefully designed. The team were polite, attentive and helpful. We camped in the woods where we were absolutely content throughout the visit. The outhouses with toilet and sink along w/daily firewood and water delivery were well appreciated. We feel restored from our visit; we look forward to returning in the future. Thank you, keep doing what your doing!

Medium Tent - Walled Garden Pitches (Large)Jul 2023

The site is very pretty and a short drive from both Jedburgh, Hawick and St Boswell's. Excellent friendly staff, and the site is peaceful. Really useful to have kitchen facilities to use, as well as clean toilets and showers. I am not much of a camper so I suppose my only niggle wouldn't matter to most. There is a sheltered hub where you can sit and eat meals, have a fire, and charge your phone. What would be ideal for me would be if there was an indoor sitting area that was lit all night. The lights were only on from 7-10 and fairly dim. I would've liked somewhere to read at night, but I suppose that's something you can't get when camping! Great place though and we will go there again.

Lovely place, a great weekend scape!

We had never camped before so we went into this very blind but open minded. We have all come away absolute camping converts! We loved our stay so much and we were sad to pack up and head home. We definitely recommend the campsite.

Medium Tent - Walled Garden Pitches (Medium)May 2022

Beautiful campsite and beautiful grounds which feels very rural- all you will hear is birdsong, but is a only short drive from a number of towns and activities. We went grass sledging at Born in Scotland and to the park at Harestanes. The walled garden is beautiful and the games lawn was well used for cricket, football, and rounders by our children. The facilities are excellent, and really well considered. Whoever designed them has clearly camped before and thought really hard about what campers need in terms of facilities. Wonderfully hot showers as well! Our children (and us) already want to go back!

Beautiful location. A great mix of pitches, ranging from fully catered to a wild woods experience. Fantastic facilities and really helpful and friendly staff. On the more expensive side but well worth it. Couldn't recommend it highly enough!
